These are after market systems fitted by the uk dealers, they get set off so often by anything, rain/high kerbs etc... that most people turn them off as they just get annoying.

Just a little update, I am not sure why but the app can no longer switch wi-fi networks automatically even though it looks like it is trying. If you manually switch to the cars SSID before opening the app it should still work.

The only difference, as far as I know, is the GX4hs has adaptive cruise control, forward collision mitigation and lane departure warning. I bought a GX4h but sometimes I wish I has those extra options... the hs you listed is high mileage but a bargain at that price.

I fixed mine to an external wall and it has been out there in all weather conditions for the last 3 years with no issues whatsoever.

Pretty sure there is no such option as 'location based' charging settings. Surely you can set it to just charge anytime and if the solar panels stop providing enough power it will just sit there plugged in but not charging? Or am I missing something here?

Yes, the app will allow you to pre-heat / pre-cool the car. The app is a pretty disappointing experience; I am an app developer and this is one of the worst I have ever used. 16m range will be just about on its limit if you have a clear line of sight to the car, mine barely works with it right...

I have never had this issue; I have had tyres put on by our local garage with no problems at all.

Click on the link in the post by @ThudnBlundr There are detailed instructions to reset the Wi-fi unit which will deregister all previously connected phones.

I think the Wi-Fi module can 'go to sleep' if not in use. To 'wake-it up' you need to go through the Wi-Fi reset process here: http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3342&p=38426#p38426

Also, don't have the key fob near your phone or it will not work either. The amount of times I have tried to use key-less entry when the keys are in the same pocket as my mobile :shock:
