PHEV 2018 - AA stops radio

Similar issue on a US MY 2020. If AA is plugged in, you can't select the radio from the "Multimedia" button; it just takes you to the AA screen. I guess Google thinks that the radio is obsolete... Another weird one: if I've been listening to baseball on the MLB At Bat app recently, AA defaults...

    Bluetooth and Android auto

Android Auto's behavior has been a little weird. On my wife's phone it does just what you described. But on my phone the directions play over the audio (MY 2020). This makes me think it's an AA or a phone issue, not a car issue.

How to figure out how long it takes my car to charge?

Huh. So we have weak 120V plugs here in the US and the charging brick always says it's charging in 8 amp mode. Plugging those into an online calculator (https://www.inchcalculator.com/amps-to-kilowatts-calculator/), that gives charging power of .96 kW. According to your formula, that would...

How to figure out how long it takes my car to charge?

Whether it takes 8, 12, or 15 hours to get a full charge will matter quite a bit for which electric rate plan I choose, and also whether it's worth it to invest in a level 2 charger. Is there a way to see how long it's taking to get to full charge? I looked through the MMCS and PHEV watchdog (I...

Motor cut-out on steep hill climb

Interesting! this seems consistent with the guy who couldn't tow his boat out of the water in Sweden. It seems like the car has little ability to provide torque from stopped when there's too much resistance. My question is whether this is true of all electric cars, or is it just an Outland...

Do not be scared of using that charge button.

That's my understanding. Trex's graph on the first page of this thread show the Turtle icon between 26% and 13% SoC. I guess I don't want to know what happens below 13%....

Do not be scared of using that charge button.

Alright, next road trip I'll try some B5. But I remain skeptical.

Do not be scared of using that charge button.

I assure you that was not the case. The "SAVE" icon was lit on the dashboard the whole time. I double checked because the battery level kept dropping. I disagree here. Don't you want to be gliding downhill whenever you don't need to be actively slowing the car down? Say on a long straight...

Do not be scared of using that charge button.

I was able to maintain 60 mph uphilll, but no longer had the torque to accelerate hard. I don't think I could have gotten up to 70. Fortunately the Turtle showed up close to the top of each hill, but I didn't have time to do much experimentation.

Do not be scared of using that charge button.

So here's my report after my first big mountain road trip in the Outlander PHEV. We loaded up with 2 adults, 1 baby, a roof box, and skiing and climbing gear and headed from the Bay to Mammoth for a long weekend. A few takeaways: We got turtled twice: once heading north on 395 going up to...

    Cross bars ?

Ordered these, they worked fine for a decent length road trip with a roof box. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0897D3B2L/ref=twister_B08DDFHZ9J?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

    Spare Tire Kit

I came across this spare tire kit which claims it fits the PHEV: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Mitsubishi-OE-2020-Outlander-PHEV-Spare-Tire-Kit-/383376074464 Anyone have experience with this? It seems like it goes in the space where the battery lives, but I remain intrigued. The lack of a...
