    2018 4HS Headlight default adjustment

The self levelling only activates when the light switch is set to ON, it doesn't operate if you normally run in AUTO (as I do). I had to drive in the dark for the first time in a while last week and noticed the lights were pointing too far down, so I switched from AUTO to ON and the lights...

    Charging

I think it’s on all models but can’t say for sure - I’ve had it on 16MY and 19MY both 4H spec. There are round silver buttons on each side of the key fob. One is blank, one is marked with a clock symbol and “off”. A double click of this overrides any charge timers that are set.

Have you tried pressing the timer override button on the side of the key ?

    Best way for charging

Bear in mind that while the battery capacity is 14kwh, only about 10kwh is actually usable (round numbers !). While the battery gauge might show empty the BMS won't discharge the battery below about 20%. Given various losses you'll consume about 11kwh to get 10kwh on board. Like you plan, I do...

Backlights for window lock, folding mirrors and it or adjustment knob and locks

Depends where you are. UK spec 2019 the buttons are backlit, they weren’t in previous years.

WiFi disable setting when vehicle is ON

On the latest version of the PHEV Remote Control app, under Settings, there is Wireless LAN Communication Settings, where you can change this. See screen grab. Not sure if it’s in the car head unit dialog somewhere. The default is OFF, i.e. Lan is ON when car is OFF and vice versa. This works...

    Wifi problem

Finally got my iphone connected and registered with ios 14.1. Removed all references on the phone to the app and the car nw and started over. The only thing that I did differently from previous attempts was to allow the app the access location. It registered successfully at the third attempt.

    Wifi problem

As a minor update, I ran through a full reset and install with my wife's iphone and ipad which are still on ios 13 and all works fine. So the car's ok and I can use them as a fall back. Now to reset all over again and try with my phone at ios 14.

    Wifi problem

Same problem here having moved my phone from 13 to 14.1 yesterday and it wouldn't connect. Tried uninstalling and refreshing everything and no dice following all the tips so far known. Strangely my ipad, which I also moved to 14.1, would still connect, but now I have reset the car wifi it won't...

2020 Outlander PHEV Review by Matt Brand Cars

It's good to see a review from someone who has put in the effort to understand how the car works. I'm on my second and it suits our (retired) lifestyle perfectly - all local travel on electric, no range anxiety for long trips.

    2020 vs 2021 PHEV

It's unchanged, but I haven't managed to hit mine yet ! It's certainly not a serious off roader from a clearance point of view, but the traction does seem good on poor surfaces.

    2020 vs 2021 PHEV

Ah ok. I have owned two of these - a UK 16MY (old spec) and now a 19MY (new spec). Go for the new one, no question. Along with the bigger battery and motors/ICE there are host of other improvements making it a fundamentally better car. See if you can test drive both to feel the difference.

    2020 vs 2021 PHEV

Assuming this is UK, then those changes you mention, bigger battery and engine, came in with 19MY (18 reg) cars. I wouldn't expect much change between a 20 and 21 car, maybe some trim and features but nothing substantial. The change you mention is relevant to US, and maybe other, markets.

New owner wondering about eco mode

You should also be aware of how it affects the heating system in cold weather if you have an electric heater - but I'm not sure that your MY and trim level does. Read all about it on the UK PHEV FB page (rather than repeat it here....)

To consume old fuel, refuel 15L or more...

Slightly improved my position as I had to go out this morning for essential shopping (well it is SWMBO's birthday !) and to collect veg boxes for the village. Drove the whole time in Sport mode once I'd used up some battery
