D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

I also had success. Took a while to get the 'bad battery' I used to achieve exactly the right voltage to just be enough to start charging but not too much that it did not act as a normal start up. Saw the 'EV Service Required' alert many times, but only when you have the extended delay for the...

    charging flap

Same problem and Mitsi servicing have not fixed it. Has chipped the paint and opening and closing the flap makes a loud click. Black clip has dropped out a few times. Sounds like a design fault.

Can MMCS be upgraded to CarPlay?

I hate the stock MMCS media system. Has to be one of the worst features of the car and so difficult to work your way around. Plus of course the HERE maps system is unworkable. Here in New Zealand I live in Auckland. If I want to search for a street address I need to know if it is in Auckland...

    New Zealand charging

Had a long discussion with Mitsubishi NZ. They wont say why they disabled CHaDemo, only that this is a factory install and cannot be retrofitted. Seems like a rubbish response to me given that it really is just the big cables to the battery. I assume it comes down to whether or not the...

    New Zealand charging

Vector have announced the first of many free public fast charging points in Auckland. However of course Mitsubishi have crippled the NZ and AUS versions of the Outlander by removing the fast charging port. How do we get them to reverse this decision?

Tow rating of New Zealand Vehicles

Towed at least a ton yesterday with zero problems. Car performed perfectly including a standing start up a steep hill. The torque from those electric motors is amazing.

    New Zealand charging

Also found this in the thread about fast charger problems in the UK. Seems that maybe the removal of the fast charging option is deliberate as Mitsubishi have a problem with fast charging which they are unwilling to resolve.

    New Zealand charging

Still waiting for an answer on the CHADemo port but can report that the J1772 will charge at 15 amps, not the full 32 amps supported in the UK. Drops charging time to around 4.5 hours from 6.5 hours. You will need a separate 15 amp socket installed in your garage. Given that I charge...

    New Zealand charging

The NZ new car has a 10 amp plug charging lead. There is no 32 amp option nor the CHAdeMO option which most other countries have fitted. So the flap on the electric port is huge, but covers only the little 10 amp point.. There is a blanking plate screwed where the CHAdeMO would normally be...

Extracting useful data from your OBDII port

I think paying $10 for the app makes perfect sense, happy to be a beta tester too if required. I also agree that while real time data display is great, benefits are best achieved form extracting the data from a SQL database at the end of the trip.
