Happened once in my garage, the other time 5km away. If it's coming from another device it would have to be onboard. It doesn't connect like a phone call, either.

We bought our PHEV about 6 weeks ago and have had 3 instances where it refused to select a gear, or shut down. Mitsubishi seems to have no idea. Any clues?
