14 mile range for 2018 Outlander PHEV, normal?

While your estimated range is a little on the low side, it totally depends on the previous owners driving habits. See how far you can actually drive, and take note of the terrain eg hills, as well as driving speed. Repeat a couple of times from full charge to flat. Our the scientific way to get...

    Battery condition check

Yep, that's the official test. You can also test the capacity yourself using an OBD adaptor and the android phone App EvBatMon.

    Towing a caravan

By having the Charge button pressed, you are asking the PHEV to generate power when ever possible, which is critical for towing so the battery is not depleted quickly. Chris is correct, what you are describing with Charge mode active is what happens at slower speeds when the engine has to act...

    Battery Condition Report question

This is the only value that really matters. 26.4/38 = 69.5% SOH (or 30.5% Degraded)

    PHEV Battery Replacement under warranty

[email protected] Back in 2019 it was monitored by Nemyra Svaikauskas and Megan McGuinness

    Granny charger issue.

Have you tried charging at a completely different house? Maybe the PHEV is not happy with an earth leakage etc?

    Increasing/Upgrading - Higher Battery Capacity

Thomas is a nice guy, but I don't think he commercialised it. However I read that there is a commercial solution under development here in Australia, due for release late 2022 - https://www.ozelectricvehicles.com/misubishi-outlander-phev They already have a iMiEV solution which a friend of...

    Towing in hilly areas

Yes, no problem as long as you use Charge mode the entire trip you will be fine. I've towed double that weight with the old 2L PHEV and it does struggle a bit, however half the weight with a bigger engine and you could almost climb Everest!

    Towing limit

The biggest van I have seen behind a PHEV was a "Hobby La Vita Veneto 495 UL" towed by none other than the "famous" (on this forum) ANKO from Netherlands. I've sold my PHEV as even towing a Adria Altea 402PH was a struggle at times. Diesels still have their place.

Purchased 2nd hand 2014 Outlander - Range Question

Welcome to PHEV ownership, I'm up in NSW and have owned a PHEV for 6 years until a couple of months ago. Plenty of Aussie PHEV owners (me included) had their traction battery replaced under warranty due to Mitsubishi having a claim on their website back in 2014/15 that degradation would be "no...

    12v battery death

You don't have a dashcam or other accessory hardwired to the 12V ? If nothing changed, then there is definitely something draining the 12V when the car is parked. Check interior lights are switching off when the doors close, and if you have a voltmeter that measures current, disconnect the 12V...

    Rear wheel mud guards?

It would help to post a photo with an arrow or something indicating where you think the issue is, then another vehicle owner can compare your photo to their vehicle.

    WiFi Range Extender

Have you checked that it doesn't work? I can reach my PHEV 15 metres away without any wifi booster.

    Towing in hilly areas

Orange engine on the MMCS display means the engine is directly driving the front wheels (parallel hybrid mode). Always CHARGE mode while towing. Although it seems "proper" to do slow speed towing on EV only, you are simply reducing the charge in the battery.

    Full electric conversion

Everthing is relative, however simple would not be how I describe the addition of the Leaf batteries - Read about it here - https://forums.aeva.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=7191 Installation would be very expensive due to the trial and error involved, especially if the ICE is removed as many...

If the propulsion battery stops forever

If the battery is simply totally degraded, yes you might only get 1 EV mile, but everything is still fine as its just like a Prius. However if the battery develops a cell fault, then you're up for a replacement battery (from a wrecked vehicle etc) or a replacement cell (assuming you know what...

    B0 to B5

This is a really interesting point and quite correct. However I have though of it from the opposite scenario - eg you are tailgating someone who is slowing down so you ease the accelerator and the B5 regen slows you enough, however then the car in front stops suddenly due to a ball or child...

    Tailgate struts

Hi, have you considered asking wreckers? The PHEV struts will be the same as the top end ICE model which also had an electric opener/closer.

    Full electric conversion

I have now read of 2 people extending the battery range of their PHEV, no-one totally eliminating the ICE however anything is possible (however most do not make financial sense). 1. A guy in Netherlands put higher capacity cells replacing existing cells in the PHEV pack for 10-20% more range...

    Servicing options for West London

Wow I had heard of that issue, however not how bad it is. Wouldn't the PHEV have the same chance of getting its cat stolen, or is the Prius one particularly targetted? Sorry I'm not in UK so can't help you on servicing.
