    Auto wipers

Well yes, you have several levels of sensitivity on the bezel on the wiper stalk. There's no further sensitivity adjustment I don't believe. I find the bezel a bit fickle so often rotate it fully one way then reverse to the degree of sensitivity I want.

Looks like we have a new forum!

Well thank you very much for the very many insightful contributions you've made to the Outlander PHEV forums Maby. Good luck with your Nissan. I'll be here for a bit longer, like Geolog above, as I too cannot find anything that fits the bill quite as well as the Outlander for my use cases. I...

Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

Andy, I think NightPHEVer's jet wash theory is very plausible. Not the cause in my case but very similar effect would come from driving too quickly through a large amount of standing water creating a weight of water blasting the fairly thin rubber. My aftermarket replacements are...

    Charge flap actuator repair

My charge flap wouldn't unlock yesterday so encouraged by Thruster's solution I decided to investigate and in the spirit of taking any opportunity to deny Mitsi main stealers my business, try to repair. 45 minutes later with no new parts I was done. If you are not the sort who calls an...

    Part number for window motor

Does anyone know the part number for a 2014 Outlander PHEV rear nearside (UK) window motor?

Will soon be cheaper to run my phev on petrol

I dunno about 25 -30 mpg jdsx. I have read this sort of claim before and when I have run without plug-in charging, even short trips I find it hard to get less than 40mpg! Of course I don't wear boots, I keep within speed limits and my tyres are always pumped (and sometimes a little over...

    Oil life?

On the OPs original point please do change oil on schedule or more frequently. I was surprised at the poor condition of mine after a year and 10K miles when perhaps 60 - 70 % of miles are all electric. I like to service my own car every now and then to be certain it was actually done properly...

    Electric charging problems

If we leave aside the (logical) possibility the OP drives with a heavy right foot and/or the terrain driven is markedly different from that the dealer used in their test, then the number one suspect is the rear brake callipers. Other threads note that these do seize in cars of this age. Of...

    How to reset service indicator?

Thanks DD. That's all very interesting.

    How to reset service indicator?

I have tried the published procedure - hold messages button til spanner flashes then touch again. I have now a few hundred miles or 13 months to next service, which is obviously drivel. Service done just want to reset it (myself). MY16

    Best way for charging

For the OP I agree just putting in petrol is the least worst option cost wise. I figure mile for mile petrol is cheaper (bought from a supermarket) than using any public charger unless its free - I see Tesco offer free charging in some of their supermarkets now. Also note that slow home...

    Phev 2014 suspension gator

See my post on this topic in another thread, https://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=5372#p57474 They are perhaps better in aftermarket parts and certainly cheaper. Glad I did mine as much for the fresh rubber above the spring as the dust gaitor around the strut. If you are...

Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

Yes, I know I should have weighed the old vs the new components. Sorry.

    Fuel economy on the motorway

But not all sliding surfaces !

Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

Okay, so I eventually got around to changing these. I bought German aftermarket boots and although its a little tricky measuring rubber with a vernier gauge I figured they were about 10% (0.3mm) thicker than the originals at the skirt. The component includes the top rubber mount on which the...

New front discs at 34,000 miles? (55,000 km in new money)

Well unless you drive like a hoolie (and I am pretty sure you don't) my guess is your dealer needs to generate a bit of work/revenue. Are the disks grooved? You can certainly run through two sets of pads before considering replacing disks - my front disks have done twice your mileage almost...

Tyres - winter and summer - or not. A review.

"...secondhand tyres are almost worthless." In my pauper days I only bought second hand tyres and on an appropriate vehicle (any ICE with a high tax band) I would now. I got 30K miles out of the Toyos on my extra set of wheels. Top tip for owners in the UK who get a "...nail in the edge of...

Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

5 years and 100K km here. Then there's the warranty coverage Ts&Cs. Like most insurance here it excludes pretty much anything that might actually happen. Large consumer facing companies don't call the UK 'Treasure Island' for nothing.

Tyres - winter and summer - or not. A review.

"... it's far cheaper than having 2 sets of tyres..." Well perhaps a bit cheaper. And perhaps not. Granted I had to find the wedge for the wheels/extra tyres but I can only be wearing out one set of tyres at a time. Also the extra wheels are perhaps the one bit of my car that wont depreciate...

Tyres - winter and summer - or not. A review.

I can't comment on all-season tyres but I have had my winter tyres mounted on a set of OEM wheels I acquired from a breaker for a couple of years now. Just remounted them the other day - noticeably quieter than my now worn out old Toyos on the summer wheels. If I go to the colder bits of the...
