    Exhaust

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this Lez - I’ve had exactly this problem today, and my local garage ran into exactly this problem. I will tell them to take a look at these guys.

    Anyone going for another one?!

The XC40 does look cracking. I’m currently hoping to get the pure BEV version (to replace a diesel Skoda, not my precious Outlander, which I’m intending to run into the ground) when it comes out next year.

    Chargemaster

Sorry to hear this. I recently had the totally opposite experience with them. Intermittent problem with charging, and they came out and replaced the 2015 unit under warranty (which, like you, I had no idea was still valid) with no fuss.

Mitsu finally fixes Wi-Fi security hole?

I asked my local dealer to sort this out when my Outlander went in for a service last week, only to be told that there was a problem with the "fix" and so they had been told to stop doing it! It's completely ridiculous that it has taken Mitsu this long to sort this out

Driving the PHEV in the mountains - tips please!

Let me know if you make any other discoveries when the snow arrives! Why would you need another set of wheels for winter tyres? I just had the winter tyres put on the wheels that came with the car - is that wrong?

Driving the PHEV in the mountains - tips please!

Thanks jaapv - that's really helpful. Am I right in thinking that I should therefore only turn off traction control if I encounter deep snow / get stuck? As long as you don't need all wheels spinning together to get going (i.e. some of the wheels have reasonable traction) I'd imagine you're...

Driving the PHEV in the mountains - tips please!

Hi everyone After an abortive attempt to drive to our skiing holiday in the PHEV last year (when some *$%£@** rear-ended it the day before we were due to leave) I'm looking forward to driving it from the UK to the Alps in a few weeks. Got the winter tyres on and raring to go (I'll take snow...

    Remote heating question

Hi folks Well, the temperature has dropped here in the UK. I have switched off my car's Wi-Fi because of the security concerns, so for the first time this morning have tried to set up the remote heating using the onboard system in the car rather than the app. Couple of things weren't clear...

How useful is the Mitsubishi App or other 3rd party Apps ?

How useful is the Mitsubishi App or other 3rd party Apps ?

I've deleted my app and turned off the car's wifi since the notification from Mitsubishi that there was a potential hack / security issue (on which, no further updates I note  ). I know some people on here aren't concerned about this, but my wife's Ford Kuga was stolen in the night from...

    Moisture in tail lights

I've got exactly this problem too. I've been ignoring it tbh - should I take it to the dealership?

Does regen braking need to "warm up"?

Cheers Chris. That probably also explains why I hadn't noticed it before, as I imagine in the depths of winter the pre-heating function was slightly draining the battery before I got in the car.

Does regen braking need to "warm up"?

Hi All Have had the PHEV back for a few weeks following its repair due to some idiot smashing into the back of it  One thing I've noticed, which I hadn't before, is that it now takes a few miles into each journey before the regen braking starts to work. Is this normal? As I say, I'd...

    Tesla 3 launch

I was responding to your final sentence which questions why any PHEV owner would not jump at a Tesla. Until it is as easy and quick to recharge a pure EV as it is to fill the tank of a petrol car, there will be a significant market for cars that can burn petrol - the PHEV gives something close...

    Tesla 3 launch

You've answered your own question - the need for the range extender. Plus the Tesla has more room in the back for the kids (the dog would still need the PHEV though!). Oh, and while this isn't necessarily rational, the Tesla's a lot more attractive/ desirable in my view. Why do you think...

    Tesla 3 launch

This is a better point. My "second car" is a Superb Estate for all those reasons! I'm interested in the Tesla (or a future Leaf type smaller car) but probably to run alongside the PHEV, not replace it. You do, though, see plenty of people on this forum saying that they don't need the...

    Tesla 3 launch

I'd imagine the overwhelming majority of PHEV users aren't "serious 4WD users" though are they? I'd imagine most (like me) live in urban areas, are interested in electric motoring / environmental responsibility, and mainly use the PHEV for short distance journeys (thereby making the most of the...

    Tesla 3 launch

Looks pretty awesome in my view. Undecided as to whether to slap down £1,000 on a reservation at this stage - will probably hold fire and see what the final price is, and what else is out there, by the time (no doubt a number of years) that they're actually being delivered in significant...

Key-Fob Security, Time to Buy an RFID Passport Wallet

This is (we think) how my wife's Ford Kuga got nicked from our drive without any signs of forced entry whilst we slept soundly at the front of the house and didn't hear a thing :( But we got to buy a PHEV with the insurance pay out :)
