Latest changes to OLEV home charge grant

If you can find an installer who can fit you a unit before the 12th then best of luck to you. We were at capacity at the middle of March and we refuse to sub contract as the quality of work and standards can't be monitored. Most of our clients are happy to make a contribution - quite...

    3 or 5 Meter Cable??

5m 32 amp type 1 to type 2 cable is what you want but remember it's going to cost you £160ish and will you really need it as the outlander has petrol as a back up? We don't need to charge unlike bev cars. I'd do the sums before you go head first into buying cables and signing up for card schemes...

Mike could you drop me a line to [email protected] as I'm keen to understand the price at which the installs become no longer cost effective. I'm also keen to work out the companies point view on data usage from the units. Welcome to my focus group! Cheers

    New boy

Don't buy a 16amp charging cable go for the 32amp one. Some public charging units will not let you charge using a 16amp cable as they don't like the resistance from a 16amp lead. Most public chargers are 7kw or 32amp and look for a certain resistance from a lead when it's connected. 16amp leads...

Will £5K Govt Grant for EVs Continue?

Re work place charging We as installers are waiting for olev's next chunk of funding. We have been advised that work place charging will be covered by it. It would help massively as every phev driver who wants one at work gets the price of fitting a unit, does the maths, then doesn't have it...
