    Intermittent loud noise on motorway

Hi, 90kmph on poor condition tarmac motorway surface we experienced alot of road noise in ice mode. Pulled over thinking I had a flat and all good (later checked and all 4 have 35psi). Set off again, this time in EV and it occurred still but within a minute stopped Thought it may be the...

I tried last month when it was in for warranty work....they said some newer models needed a bmu reset under warranty but mine wasn't it so they wouldn't do it

    2016 37k Miles Battery Health

Elm, thank you for taking the time to give a clear view on options to extend range. I'm on the fence on the BMU reset, if it were easier I suspect I'd have done it. I know there is alot written on the subject but what is the easiest way to try to reset the BMU pls?

    2016 37k Miles Battery Health

Really good points Mr Dwarf, thanks for your input. I find the technology at my very basic level really interesting. I've enjoyed owning the PHEV and the change its had to my driving style, getting very tempted by the Kona

    2016 37k Miles Battery Health

Interesting JAAPV, is that the same principle as "useable battery" where I understand only 75% of the PHEVs batter is usable, versus about 90% of the Leaf? Does this imply the Leaf's battery is better quality and could it be that degredation occurs slower on the Lefa battery as a result? All...

    Stolen Charger

I worry they'll just rip the "petrol" cap off with the cable! I planned to padlock mine to a u bolt on the wall at home but haven't got round to it

    2016 37k Miles Battery Health

If it helps, I bought a late 2015 about this time last year and it had 85% so I feel like it's reasonable to have 88%. You will get slightly better mileage on EV as you get used to it but unfortunately 20 miles range isn't unreasonable this time of year. I'd say preserve the battery as best...

    deactivate airbag

Thanks all. Yup, that's our deciaion as well for our child - safer in the back. Irrespective, on this rare occasion that's not an option so my thanks for everyone's help in finding the off switch. Dan

    5th Service £485.75

Ah, sorry, I took the car to a Mitsubishi dealer for the software update and other warranty work as I'm more than happy for them to charge their hourly rate to Mitsubishi, just not me

    Unwanted/needed engine start

Just a tad dismissive there little scrote! :) I'm going to throw out some solidarity here as I too get irritated when ICE kicks in when I feel it isn't needed. I'm not experiencing the problems OP is, just instances where I turn the heat up too much etc. I also have concerns about the impact...

    Electric shock when charging?

Anyone able to comment on IF this shock is coming from the drive battery whether the OP would be alive to be commenting about it on this forum? :) Maybe a wiire from the 12V starter battery is exposed, touching the frame and causing the shock?...not sure if you can tell but my username isnt...

    5th Service £485.75

North city are a Mitsubishi dealer right? Not sure about others but I got quoted £640 from memory for my 60k mile service from Maidenhead, same with Winchester It's about 1/3rd of the price with my local non-mitsubishi dealer who I've always found amazing. No brainer for me, they're not...

Lindqvist method : DIY BMU Battery Reset

Thanks for everybodies posts. I'm torn as to whether to do this. I plan to possess my Outlander for a long time so don't want to damage the battery yet equally crave additional range (I am maybe 10km short each day with my work drive). I think I will rest on luck; if the dealer will reset the...

Issue with PHEV I app after Android OS upgrade

Any one managed to log on using the new app? I changed phone in the summer and had it on my list of to get it working again but haven't done so yet. By the look of the reviews you can't use the app unless you update the car software, and that isn't available from the dealer network anymore?

do you need winter tyres for the outlander?

Hi, sounds like Vredestein Quatrac 5 are the go to when upgrading the original Toyos. Any other view - i recall Crossclimates were a close 2nd? Of course, being Southern UK my interest is more about wet weather rather than snow.

    Battery warranty

Hey, that's interesting. If someone were to do it intentionally, what might the exact steps be please? I ask as there is a lot of complex talk of the Lindqvist method, A-method, D-method etc and I wondered if through trial and error there is a fairly certain methodical step to achieving this...

    Cycle carrier on the boot/trunk

Thanks, appreciated. I think i'm overly worrying about the spoiler, I suspect while not ideal it's at least substantial metal being part of the boot (as opposed to a plastic add on). Good idea re colour coding and I suspect i'll be deploying some old inner tubes and pipe lagging to make sure...
