    Advisory on first MOT!

I agree, three years is no guarantee of something not being worn. Plus, this is an advisory, not a failure! My considerable experience of MoT stations and advisories is that it is all very much down to the tester's knowledge and interpretation. For example, I have had advisories on cars one...

Buying a 2018 car ... is the 2.4 worth the extra

On the other hand, from myself who has never driven a pre-2019 model, and was greeted by 'shock / horror' comments when colleagues found out I had decided on the Outlander PHEV as opposed to a BMW 530e (or something similarly Germanic with a ludicrous EV range..), all I can say is that most if...

Is this the next-generation Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV?

Quite Volvo XC90 like.. Not sure I like it, too bold, but it will grow on me and by the time it's actually available it'll have toned down a bit I suspect.

    Potential New Owner Questions

Quite a lot! As an example my previous car was a Volvo V70 D4 SE Lux, and I save over £200 a month in BIK alone with the 2019 4HS. Based on my usage pattern when unleaded fuel and electricity costs are taken in to account, I save £25-30 a month on fuel running costs. So combined it's similar to...

What should I do on a motorway for max MPG

In the Outlander with the electric heater (e.g. my 2019 4HS) is the heat *always* generated by the electric heater or does it come from the coolant when (and only when) the ICE is running ? i.e. are there two heaters ? One electric and one as per a conventional car with a coolant heater matrix ?

    USB socket turns off

I use the rear 12V socket with a USB adapter in my 2019 4HS to power the rear-view camera when the car is ON. This turns off when I leave the car, which is exactly what I want, but exaclty what the OP doesn't want. If I wanted to do something like the OP, I'd use a seperate 12V sealed lead-acid...

Newbie - Full tank with full charge total range?

Depends on how you drive and the road conditions. I've done a 406 miles trip in one day before having to refuel in my 2019 4HS. I started with a full tank and a full charge but didn't charge during the trip. I only refilled at 406 miles because I bottled it and wasn't convinced I'd make it to...

2019 Outlander PHEV reviews and what we know

So, gone are the days where the USA used to get everything before everyone else then ? 8-)

To Eco or to not Eco - that's the question!

On my 2019 4HS, although ECO mode is not sticky (the car will always start in NORMAL mode), the A/C system IS sticky, so I usually select the A/C to OFF before I turn off the car, and then when I turn the car on again the next time, the A/C is still in the OFF mode which allows me to select ECO...

To Eco or to not Eco - that's the question!

Where abouts in the world did you do the original test on the 4th and 11th Feb ?

    Charging at home questions

The 10A 3-Pin (UK) charger from my 2019 4HS consumes 2.4W once the car is fully charged. So like a TV on standby, perhaps. So at a typical unit rate of 0.15p/kWh, if the car is left plugged in and not charging for typically 8 hours a day, 365 days a year, it'll cost you about £1.05 a year in...

    mpg on long trips

..which is why regeneration is wasteful when compared to coasting further without it.

    Delayed Delivery

Go on to the Mitsubishi website and the online customer service/chat system. They can tell you availability and stock levels - they did for me.

    Returning to a PHEV - anyone with a MY 2019 who had a 2015?

I think you must have had a bad one. The Outlander PHEV one doesn't exhibit this. Neither did the 2008 Ford Focus Titanium I had for several months, nor the 2014 V70 I had for 4 years (Volvo used to be owned by Ford..). Actually, out of all of the cars I've had with the heated front screen, the...

    Outlander vs Speedhumps and potholes

I can't say the 2019 model Outlander PHEV is anything other than smooth, comfortable and refined. I say this also as I live in a rural area and traverse many minor B roads in the UK, some of which are rough, without any concerns or ride quality issues. The car my Outlander replaced, a 2014 Volvo...

Any queries or suggestions of Mitsubishi Japan's engineers?

How about linking the brightness control of the main dash instruments to the screen in the centre (where the media/vehicle info etc is). At present, even on my 2019 model, the two are seperate. One control should adjust both display brightness settings. Either/Or will do it, but don't force the...

USB Port for media unit - what orientation

As far as I know all right-angled USB leads conform to a standard - I used a short one in my 2019 4HS and the right angle points down, so the cable is tucked into the recess where the cup holder cover is, and comes out the left side of the cup holder to where my phone sits. Neat.

Best EV Estimate and what was you doing to get it ..?

Furthest actual range was 33 miles on my 2019 4HS. Best reported EV range was 42 miles, probably the morning after I did the above! (Early October 2018, UK, still mild, no heat and no A/C).

    Eco Drive Ratio Confusion

Except it isn't. It is simply the ratio of the time that the vehicle has moved with the petrol engine stopped to the time that it has moved with the petrol engine running. On the contrary, it would appear to be fairly accurate from my own measurements.

    Eco Drive Ratio Confusion

Here's an example; If I start with a full charge on a say 2 hour journey, I always, as a rule of thumb, say an average of 50 mph is typical in most driving situations. So my 2 hour journey lets say covers 100 miles. The first say 25 miles of that 100 miles will be on EV only. So already the...
