    disable alarm sensors

Thanks Andy. I will try pulling the fuses for the horn and the security horn when I have to leave the car for a few days. It is in a fairly safe spot but the geckos are all over the place and sometimes hitch a ride, so there is a chance of one crawling over a sensor when I am gone and I have a...

Does anybody know why this doesn't work for some and a solution? I have an Australian model 2014

    12v battery death

There has been a recall for replacement 12V batteries from Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited (MMAL). I replaced mine myself ensuring that the breather hose is firmly connected and the battery is firmly mounted. At the end of the the letter it states that I have the option to purchase a...

    12v battery death

Also check the sunshade mirror light, should go off automatically but you only know if you check. Installing a dashcam can be a real PITA with this car. In my case the dashcam switches off after 20 minutes after I park and it it detects no motion. But the step down converter from 12v to 5V (USB...

Can we clear up Serial vs Parallel drive?

I am driving a late 2014 model so what I write may not be applicable to the newer models mentioned here. Also the ICE must have been running about one minute before it will switch to parallel mode. As I mostly (99% of the time) drive in EV mode I am weary about demanding a lot of power/revs...

    MY 2014 servicing diy

I own my warranty expired PHEV for little over a year and so far have driven about 300km( in words three hundred) on petrol. What would need to be serviced?

    Fuel Stabilizer

Ha Ha, we needed a spammer to get some proper info to this question. I agree about the battery removal, which would be similar to leaving the lights on over night or something, that it can never invalidate warranty. I know it took 6 months after I tried the Lynquist method (leaving AUX battery...

Considering the Outlander PHEV anyone got one?

I can't drive much over 80km/h up a hill in EV mode either. That is highway, not steep incline. If the ICE is cold it won't switch back to EV easily until it has warmed up. You must consider that pure EV is only 60kW to move over 2 tonnes up a hill.

Considering the Outlander PHEV anyone got one?

It serves me very well. IMO it is the only 'EV' that you can use in Australia as EVs are not popular and definitely will never see any government support/subsidies. Therefore there is very little infrastructure to charge for the long distances out side the metro areas and the series hybrid...

Mitsubishi Australia will not sell a workshop manual to me.

PDF files and viewers have fantastic ways of navigation too. I found this online version that is currently working with images: http://mmc-manuals.ru/manuals/outlander_phev/online/Service_Manual_2014/2019/index_M1.htm ...so it can be used more conveniently across all platforms with a tablet or...

Considering the Outlander PHEV anyone got one?

I try to avoid holding the battery at 100% state of charge for a longer period of time. Generally all Li-Ion batteries and those in the PHEV are of that type, degrade faster when they are 'stored' at 100% state of charge. So if you know how long it takes to reach 100% I would delay overnight...

D-Method on really stubborn cars or the A-Method :)

Well, it has been a little over a year since I started this thread and 'resetted' my BMU with this method and I can clearly say I have not regretted it one bit. I still have 35Ah SoH. Considering I came from 29Ah I could be looking at 26Ah if I had not done this and the car would be a total dud...

Those links are for the Mitsubishi Outlander not the PHEV. Could anybody please provide a link to a workshop manual in PDF version for the PHEV ?

Using the Charge settings to reduce engine on/offs

I certainly can't keep the needle perfectly flat in any B setting other than B0 without constantly staring at it. You must have mirror flat roads because the slightest road level change will require compensation. Alternating between accelerating and regeneration in order to try to keep that...

    PHEV driven without keys!

"Any comments on this ? Car doors are locked by this process but car may not be fully security armed ?" Most likely. "Would it be possible, if entry was forced, to drive away as the fob is still in the car ?" Absolutely Using the metal key has random effects on my 2014 model. The alarm will...

MY 2019 Phev no wheel paddles?

Driving only in B5 and trying to hold the pedal somewhere in between is not a good thing. There are thermal losses using regen and the higher the regen current the more losses. Using B0 as much as possible will always be the most efficient way to drive but only using B5 to slow down at higher...

    Battery Capacity (dying??)

What I mean is that it respond too quickly and directly to the different loads. It should not assume that if I am driving up a hill that I am always going to drive up that hill but it does. If I drive up the first hill which is less than 60 seconds it will almost immediately subtract over 10 km...

    Battery Capacity (dying??)

I consider 29-33km a bit low for a brand new car. You would have to be a lead foot driver or dive a lot too fast up hill. It is a bit hilly where I am and by km I drive more on the highway and still get 50km real range, but I consider myself an efficient driver and make use of the paddles a...

    Battery Capacity (dying??)

It does. Using the brake pedal is a combination of regen and wasteful mechanical braking. Why I know that? My brake pads squeek! Regen doesn't. I use the brake as little as possible. Maybe that is why they squeek.
