    E85 - didn't go well

Just going across France and was tempted by the 89c/litre price of E85. Thinking that we'll be burning through it and refilling in 300 miles anyway, I thought I'd try it. Brimmed the tank (2016 MY) and all seemed to go well for the next few hours. No noticeable difference in performance (fully...

    UK Owners - Insurance

I'm just in the process of renewing my insurance and the quotes are coming out double last year's premium! Has anyone got any recommendations for reasonably priced insurers that they've taken recently please? TIA

    Broken undertray

Picked up a nasty noise below 70mph the other week that turned out to be resonance from one of the flaps on the undertray being loose. The rivets had rotted through so I replaced with stainless steel bolts. Hope this helps someone in the future.

Flat Aux battery - getting going again

Last week I had a road trip across France. I had a cool box plugged in to a socket that I'd previously fitted with a low voltage cutout device so as not to flatten the Aux battery overnight, but when I came out to the car in the cold morning the 12V Aux battery was obviously low voltage as the...

UK Rear Brake Caliper Safety Recall

Had a letter from the DVLA saying that my 2016 Outlander is the subject of a safety recall for the rear brake calipers - what a surprise! I had a seized rear caliper a year or so ago and was told that my build was post modifications for that problem and therefore there should be no issue and...

    Rear caliper seizures

Update to the seized rear caliper issue. I have a UK MY16 that was supposedly built after the countermeasure parts were fitted but one of the rear calipers has seized as confirmed by a Mitsubishi technician at a dealer inspection. Look out for further issues on yours and if found, bring it up...

    Seatbelt buckle damage to trim

Anyone else annoyed by the way the seatbelt pings the buckle back in t the B-pillar trim and puts little dings in it? I guess the answer is to release it slowly but not everyone's wife and kids can be trained that way. Anyone done anything about it?

Caravan & Camping Club article on future tech

Anyone see this in the latest newsletter? Little piece about the future of EVs etc in the towing world that mentions the PHEV.

    Reverse

Presumably Reverse only uses the motor(s)? Can you go as fast in Reverse on the motors as you can Drive, i.e. 70mph? Anyone tried it?

    Video feed to MMCS

Does anyone know how each camera feed goes to the MMCS? Are there 4x VGA cables? I often have a bike carrier on the back and am thinking of putting a camera on the rear of the bike carrier so that I can see the rear of that and want to switch between the output from that or the standard boot...

    MMCS 'dashcam' camera hack

Is there any way to turn the MMCS into a DVR for the 4 cameras on the car? It seems to me that all the hardware is there (cameras, SD card slot etc) but obviously the software is missing. Anyone thought of hacking it in some way, or adding some kind of widget to get the video feeds permanently...

Multimedia System SD card file limitation

I've put an SD card in my MY16 'Stereo' with folders from A to Z on containing all of my music, for example D will have Def Leppard and then that will have sub folders of Hysteria album etc, but I can only see the contents up to 'E'. Is that a number of files limitation or something and can I...

    Corroded rear axle earth strap

Anyone else suffered from this? The earth strap between body and rear axle that is in place in case of a fault with the rear motor electrics has gone green, brittle and crumbly and has fractured. My recently purchased 2016 Outlander is out of mileage warranty by <5000 miles which is very...
