Mits 120 volt 8/12 amp EVSE for 2019

My OEM 120 voltcharger is now showing a fault (red light on EVSE) status beginning yesterday. Otherwise it has worked well since summer 2019 and 80 k km worth of distance. I have an aftermarket fixed rate 16 amp 120 or 240 capable aftermarket charger which charges fine, so I think it is a...

    Jump starting outlander phev 2016

Great responses as well as the tip re disconnecting to clear dash issues. Thanks. I'm going to get one of these, my wife quite often sites in the car while not running but on her phone. So after 3 winters I'm worried about the state of this tiny battery.

    Jump starting outlander phev 2016

Has anyone jump started the rear accessory battery using one of the small portable packs sold for jump starting other standard vehicles. As it appears the aux battery is rated at only 325 CCA, most if not all of these devices would appear to provide plenty of power, I'm thinking of buy one...

12 battery size or model number

Does anyone know the actual size/model number of the 12 volt battery (2019 model if it matters) I am considering buying a backup unit. Also, is anyone using a 12 volt battery tender to keep it charged up, particularly in situations where the car is not operated every day

PHEV Mode Not Available - 2022

My 2019 (Cdn version) does this quite often in the winter, It can occur when I try to force EV on with the EV button, and it is very cold, or low charge level in the traction battery, or a combination of both. Frankly I've never worried about it, as it will run in EV whenever it can. I only...

    Charging vs Preheat

I am in Canada, and even at a 16 amp rate at 124 volts it doesn't come close. When I've charged at 220 volts with a displayed 6 KW available rate, the car only accepted about 3.1 KW, I don't think the car's on board charger control will accept more than about 3200 watts, and this won't be...

    Canada Service Schedule

Can anyone in Canada advise what they paid for the 24000 km (service 3) service, which apparently takes overnight as it requires a full battery discharge and reset process? I am getting close and wondered what is a reasonable, or historical cost.

Does North American Outlander EVSE support 240V

I bought the Duosida one from Amazon this past spring. It will run on either 125 volt (with adapter pigtail plug that is included) or on 240 volt. I haven't yet installed the 240 volt service, but will for this winter. I have run the unit against a std 15 amp 125 volt plug in the garage, with...

    Charging Options

to clairfy above comment, the onboard charger in the PHEV limits the maximum charge to around 3000 watts. Thus the maximum amp pull from the wall at 220 volt is about 16. There are multiple 220 volt chargers available, some rated at 16 amps (just enough to meet full max'm imput), some at 32...

    Extreme cold and battery

. I call this my "wife proof" external starter kit :) Can I borrow that quote? I need it as well as she's already done exactly this on our 2019. Got into the car, supposedly started it, but then had a long telecon while still parked, ie hadn't moved. Killed it. Seriously, I"d not seen this...

    First Service and RECALL

Had the first service done today on my 2019 GT Canadian model. Dealer called it a Service type 1. Dealer also did a RECALL which was replacement of a relay of some type, and a larger cover for the new relay, vs original one. They also told me next service is Type 2 @ 16000 KM, the one after...

    forgive an ignorant quesion

I find by far the largest impact to energy usage per KM, whether gas or electric driven, is the speed you are running. That is why even conventional non plug in hybrids usually (maybe always?) do better on city rating than hwy. Speed and elevation change for your trip have huge impacts. My...

    Canadian Service Schedule.- Actual Schedule

Can anyone tell me where to find the actual published service schedule in print, and/or post a copy of it. It is not in my 2019 Outlander PHEV Own3ers Manual. I have a 2019, bought in Sept '19, with about 7500 KM on it and want to know when I need to get service done, and what.

Heater/air cond loads vs optimal 208/240 volt charger size

Thanks. I suspected as much but wanted to be sure. I thought maybe while charging, the heater would be operated directly bypassing the battery (and internal charge controller that limits to 16 amp input rate).

Heater/air cond loads vs optimal 208/240 volt charger size

I'm going to buy a 208/240 volt charger. Assuming car is fully charged in the morning, will going to a 32 amp vs 16 amp charger size be of benefit to avoid depleting the battery while running the heater or A/C? Or is the cars input limited to about the 2.93 KW regardless hence the larger...

208/240 volt charger suggestions for Canada (ie with CSA app

I'm going to go ahead and have 240 volt wired to my garage, to allow faster "top ups" than achievable with the OEM Type 1 included charger. Can anyone recommend an available solution, preferably with CSA electrical approval. I'm open to hardwired type but would prefer a plug in type so I can...

Outlander PHEV's 1500W Inverter: Pure Sine Wave!

I would guess it takes power from the main drive battery. It doesn't work in accessory mode, it only works when the vehicle is switched on (i.e. the engine can kick in if the battery charge gets low). And if you go underneath the cargo mat and look at the 12V battery, you'll see why. Can you...

    Heated Front Windscreen

R you talking about the phone/wifi connected defogging/defrosting approach, or is their another button I'm missing that actually heats the front windshield?

Maximum 240 volt charging rate/amps for 2019 POHEV

Thanks, both are useful answers to my question. Great comment as well re running a higher (IE 50 AMP) for future possible needs, as I'd expect I'll only want to do this once.

Maximum 240 volt charging rate/amps for 2019 POHEV

Just bought a 2019 GT model, and after a couple of weeks havbe decided to et 220/240 volt supply wired into my garage. Have plugged into one 6.6 KW Chargepoint socket at Ikea, but the car seemed to only charge at about 2.8-2.9 KW rate. I assume this is due to onboard charge rate limitations...
