Volume control when using satnav from phone

Phone volume has become a problem on 2019 PHEV. About 2 months ago the volume refused to go over level 11. Read on this forum that this may require a software update. Went to the dealer today. They checked my software status and found it was the current one they have (1L). Then they deleted my...

    AWC question

I have a question regarding the AWC system or 4 wheel drive. If the engine is charging the battery and driving the front wheels, as shown on the status diagram, am I getting drive to the rear wheels at the same time? If not, does it mean that 4WD is only working when driving on the battery?

    Heater not working

Not really solved it after a year of driving (just going into 2nd winter in Canada.) The heating is inadequate, and after a while the air coming in does not seem to be heated at all. We used to have a Chrysler T and C where we set the temp to 22 degrees and it was perfect.

    Limp mode

Has anyone heard of the PHEV going into limp mode? Was speaking to a dealer earlier this week and he mentioned this. It is not in the manual. Apparently if you use EV mode going up a steep long hill, the car will go into limp mode as the engine will not start up. Then you can only drive at a...

    Using the "B" levels.

MBASJM raises a good point in his post above. Does driving in a high regen number, e.g. B5, increase motor resistance and make acceleration more difficult/use more battery?

Has anyone installed a driver's seat memory switch?

I was hoping the memory 'chip' would come with the switch. Anyone else got something to add?

    Has this site been hacked?

I was referring to page 76 of the General Forum, with topics like "Exploding rear screen" etc, but these are dated 1969 so maybe they are irrelevant.

    Using the "B" levels.

Thanks for your comments. By "preferred" setting, I meant preferred by other drivers who have commented above. Using B5 as a slowing method in traffic will probably extend the life of the brake pads. Obviously using the ECO mode reduces performance. Is it documented anywhere by how much and...

    Using the "B" levels.

So reading these responses, I get the impression that B0 is the preferred setting. However, when I said that there does not appear to be any battery recharging in B5, I meant over a longish drive of more than 30 minutes in traffic, not instantaneously on one short downhill run. With the B5...

    Using the "B" levels.

I have been driving in "D" mostly for the past 3 months since we purchased this 2019 car, but am now using "B5". While there are many forum references to when to use the "charge" and "save" buttons, there has not been much discussion about utilizing the "B" paddles. In "D" the car is in "B2"...

Has anyone installed a driver's seat memory switch?

I miss the seat memory we had on our Chrysler T and C. It is a PITA to reset the seat after my wife adjusts it for her height and leg length. Has anyone installed a memory switch? if so I would like to know where it was sourced from, and what was involved in fitting it. Thanks.

Does anyone have a list of battery connections?

Mr Dwarf. I agree that the heater and fan switch off supposedly when the inside temp reaches the set one. However, if you have it set to 24C, the interior does not appear to reach 24, and then the vents blow cold air. There is supposed to be an inside temp sensor, but I wonder if it is not...

Does anyone have a list of battery connections?

If there is no 12V alternator, only a 300V generator, what recharges the 12V battery?

Does anyone have a list of battery connections?

OK. Is there a circuit diagram for the electrical system on the PHEV? I might better understand it then.

    speedometer error

I think this "over reading" of the speedo is a Japanese thing, and related to legal requirements in that country to show more than you are actually doing. Cars built in North America do not over read. Strange that the Cruise Control setting is always 3 - 5 kph less than the speedo indication...

Help! 2018 Outlander PHEV nits and bugs...

Surprised no one has mentioned the location of the seat heater buttons. You cannot see them from either front seat, and to adjust from full heat to half heat or to switch off, the driver has to take their eyes off the road. The multi selection display button cannot be seen by the driver...

Does anyone have a list of battery connections?

What I am wondering, after a month of driving a 2019 model in Canada, is which battery supplies which items? For example, is it the main 12 volt battery/alternator that supplies power to the seat warmers, the heater fan, etc, or is it the lithium battery? It would be helpful to know which...

    Heater not working

Have a 2019 and have been driving it for one month in Canada. It seems impossible to get the car warm even when set to 24 or 25 degrees. Have to use the seat warmers, and it is not even cold outside - around 6 degrees Celsius. This seems to be a problem with this PHEV car.

    New owner impressions

Thunder. Your observation would be valid if the "B" number did not go up as you pulled the "minus" paddle. As there are no gears in a PHEV, you are not actually dropping down through the gears as you may be in a conventional automatic car. As I said, these are initial observations, and I am...
