Pod Point EV public charging point

Anyone else had a problem trying to get a Pod Point EV public charging point fixed? Our local one has been inoperable for months and Pod Point don't seem to be in a hurry to repair it, despite several reminders, and the Council aren't interested, even though they enjoyed the publicity when it...

    HMRC Electricity Reclaim

Then your employer can re-imburse you for the electric cost and they will report it as a taxable benefit-in-kind on your P11D and you can make an equivalent claim for 'expenses in employment' on your Self-Assessment tax return as long as you can support the claim with evidence that the cost has...

    HMRC Electricity Reclaim

Is it a company car with all fuel provided by the employer?

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

I've got the climate control on Auto which, I think, will turn the AC on if necessary

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

Used a rapid charger for the first time yesterday at Grantham Services while we had a cup of tea. The charge didn't last long on the A1 but the petrol saved probably paid for the tea! Today, I tried to use a public charge point at a pay & display car park but it was out-of-service. It looked...

    Airport Valet Parking

I was worrying about nothing. Landed back at T3 Heathrow yesterday & the car was waiting for us as good as new (oh yea, it is new). No problems at all. I left the operation guide open at the appropriate page & spoke to the guy when we dropped it off & he gave me a smile which was as good as...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

I took delivery of my shiny new Gx4 last night and took it round to show off to my father-in-law, who used to be a mechanic at Co-op Dairies. He said it was like a milk float. Deflated!!

    Airport Valet Parking

Well, I'm going to risk it. I pick the new car up tonight & drive down to Heathrow on Thursday. The alternative was to use my old Shogun, with a dodgy gearbox, for a round trip of 500 miles. It's Purple Parking at T3. I'll let you know how I get on.

    Airport Valet Parking

Oh, is that a problem because I will have driven 200+ miles so the battery would be empty? (I'm leaving the car for 2 weeks) I suppose I could find a charging point en-route and use the Battery Save function. Would that do the trick?

    Airport Valet Parking

Has anyone used airport valet parking with their Outlander PHEV? MY new PHEV may be ready next week & we have valet parking booked at Heathrow on Friday (really good deal with Premier Inn). I have this weird concern that the driver who brings the car back when we return won't know how it starts...

    Before the PHEV...

I'm changing from a Shogun Commercial 3.2 SWB. I've had it for 9 years & done 145,000 miles. I love it & loathed to part with it but it's showing it's age, needs work done (gearbox switches) and the rear wheel arches are rusting (no idea why). I'm a company vehicle driver and the Shogun...

    New boy

Thanks everyone for your greetings & advice. There is a free charging point in a pay & display car park near work where there are no parking fees while you are hooked up and there is a free public point at the hotel attached to my golf club. I'll be using both quite a lot so I think I'll play...

    New boy

Thanks jdsx, that's really useful. Wouldn't it be handy if there was a universal swipe card or app for charging points? Never mind, I'll just have to add a few more cards to my wallet. I've ordered a GX4h in Glacier Blue & take delivery when I get back from holiday in 3 weeks - it'll be the...

    New boy

Hello everyone. I ordered my PHEV yesterday & came across this forum last night. I've got the usual concerns about charging cable security and home charging points (but you've given me some useful ideas), but my main concern is about public charging points. Am I right in thinking that as long as...
