    Coming back to this thread again, as I still haven't been able to work out how to not have the daytime running lights on. The only way would be to add a switch or remove the fuse. Does anyone know how to do this? There was an image on this post about that but it must be broken with the forum...

    In park situation only the lights should be able to be OFF. It's not illegal to park with your lights OFF. Doesn't the Toyota Prius allow you to have the car air-conditioning running with the car parked and light off? When the battery runs low the car engine starts to keep the air-con going...
