How To Charge At A Charging Station

Puget Sound/Salish Sea area, West Washington State. We have a 2021 GT in (afaik, it's only a US designation). We get anywhere from 22mi (about 35.4km) pure-motorway driving, down to 16mi (about 26km) up and down the numerous hills (Seattle) and mountains (Everett to Wenatchee, US Highway 2...

Level 1 charger has fault light blinking

CE/EE guy here. The folks above who've said, you have a ground fault are correct. I had this at the initial outlet I used (US 117VAC 8A single ~). The ground has to be clean. If it isn't, a charger providing large amounts of current might cause a fire. The safety features of the charger Mits...

Struggling with this fast charging business

Only used the ChaDeMo system twice (public chargers, while waiting in line and the grocery store); both times it only charged up to about 75% before shutting off. I was wondering why also; my level-2 charger at home can give me a 90-99% charge in 3-4 hours.

Level 2 charger at home, anybody? What are your thought?

Our local Public Utility District (PUD) offered their customers Enel JuiceBox level-2 chargers at a steep discount (about $300US off the regular price), plus, if you got them, they'd put you on a special rate-plan that did not penalize you for the extra drain. All this was part of a state-wide...

Pressurized Fuel Tank - does Outlander PHEV have it?

All Outies, and, in fact, most Mitsubishi gas-powered vehicles have pressurized fuel tanks. Cheers, mellobob et al.

‘Charge mode’ - is that bad for the battery?

I work for a company that manufactures grid-scale battery storage systems. I have some knowledge of this type of cell and the ancillary charging circuitry. Most of the newer models (and I don't have the official specs on the Outie, but this is a trend across the EV-PHEV industry) have either...

    Winter tires.

Has anyone tried these tires on their Outlander PHEV: Toyo Observe GSi-6 Studless My 2021 PHEV GT takes 225/55R18's. I don't want to change sizes. I've used an earlier version of this same tire on a 1991 Subaru Legacy Turbo sedan and a 1996 all-wheel-drive Chrysler minivan, and they were...

2021 Outlander PHEV GT trim (US).

Purchased end of March, 2021. Only two options: brake-light strobe and window deflectors (the latter of which I installed myself). Sorry about the crappy pictures; I'll take better ones in daylight later.

2020 Outlander PHEV Review by Matt Brand Cars

Agreed. We've just started using Toyo Observe GSI-6 studless winter tires and now our 2021 PHEV is better on the ice than my friend's brand new 2023 Subaru Outback. We actually put a towel over our bumper and pushed him up the hill. Serious bragging rights, now. 😏 Next year we'll get new rims...

    MMCS keeps re-booting

The relay would probably kick on as soon as it starts to boot. I don't think your relay has failed I think it's far more likely that you have a head-unit or vehicle core unit failure of some sort (either hardware or possibly software). But I'm a newbie to this car, so maybe someone else has a...

    US Outlander PHEV Owner Check-In

Hey, all. I'm a twofer (both new owner and forum member). Just picked up a 2021MY GT model in Renton, WA USA. We have been interested since 2018 but were quite annoyed that the rest of the world got an upgrade in 2019 to a bigger battery and rear-motor but we in the US did not. Sucks to be...

    Who are you?

    1. Owner - April Fools' Day, 2021 (I hope I'm proven not to be a fool) ;) 2. US/NA 2020 GT 3. Facelift (after 2016 exterior change - like, four years after) 4. Wife & I drove a 2018 model and liked it, until I found out that the US was not getting the planned upgrade that the rest of the...
