What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

I fitted a rear bumper protector. Came with lots of instructions about using masking tape to measure and mark the bumper to get the location precise. I couldn't figure them out so went for dead reckoning, looks OK so far! Even in the few days between getting the car and fitting the protector...

    SatNav on a 4H - Where?

This is one of the things I love most about electric vehicles. Even without a heated screen, they defrost so much quicker than an ICE as you don't have to wait for the ICE to heat up. Not sure it's fully worth the £100 p/m differential for this though

    Winter Tyres?

Any recommendations for a retailer/fitter for winter tyres north of the border (Glasgow)? I could do with next day delivery so I can get them fitted for a long drive on Saturday.

    SatNav on a 4H - Where?

Yes, but it integrates with the touch screen in the car similar to a standalone satnav. It's not just like having your phone in landscape, it is a proper solution.

    Pure EV mode

I don't think it would. The earlier poster said it can be -2, when they start the car with heater set to 22 the ICE does not kick in with EV mode selected. I've only had my 4h a day but with ambient temps at about 4C using the heater did not start the ICE. I managed 35 miles (with charging)...

    2018/2019 Outlander

I received my 4h yesterday (to replace a 3h at the end of a 3 year lease). Unexpectedly I received an 18 model instead of the 17 I was expecting, so down a sunroof and integrated satnav, but up a heated windscreen and Apple CarPlay. First impressions are excellent. The interior just feels...

    SatNav on a 4H - Where?

Hello All I've just had a nice new 4H delivered, and as per the specs this should have a HDD SatNav. Only problem is I can only see the SmartAudio system and no satnav. Am i being stupid? Is the SatNav hidden in some menu I have not found?

Best EV Estimate and what was you doing to get it ..?

I've seen 34, never achieved it but I did see it!

    Tyre recommendations

There have been a few comments that a 17" wheel might be better for winter tyres. If I have 225/55 R18 at the moment, what is the equivalent tyre if I change to a 17" wheel for winters? Also, does anyone have any recommendations on wheels? I've had a look at those on my tyres, but there are...

    Winter Tyres?

I'm assuming an All Season tyre (Cross Climate) does exactly what it says on the tin, designed for all seasons, better in cold weather, maybe not as good as a dedicated winter tyre but you don't have to change them in summer?

    Winter Tyres?

I followed this thread when it first started in 2014 but haven't thought abut winter tyres for a while. Can anyone summarise the issues of swapping tyres on the same set of rims? I know some people have purchased a second set of alloys to avoid swapping the tyres every 6 months, but I'm not...

    “Hybrid Tosh”

The only negativity I've experienced is on forums and Facebook when the pure EV brigade get wound up by an Outlander getting to a charge point ahead of them.

    PHEV Economy

The economy will vary greatly on your usage profile. I use about 8000 miles per year, but around 3/4 of these are local journeys, less than 20 mile round trips, which in a newer PHEV with the EV button you can do completely on petrol. But even on the profile I'm not saving enough to cover the...

    When to NOT use electric...

I've always worked on the assumption that cost per mile for electricity is about 1/3 of the petrol cost assuming 10-12p kw/h. As mentioned, about £1.20 for a full charge, in winter driving probably 20 miles, so 6p per mile. Petrol cost around £5.20/gallon, say 30 miles/gallon urban driving...

What Have You Done To Your PHEV Today?

I haven't done anything to my PHEV today, but I have order a new one! Currently got a 14 plate 3H, a nice shiny new 4h will be arriving in December. Ruby black and I'm very much looking forward to having the preheating function available for cold winter mornings, and my wife is looking forward...

    Anyone going for another one?!

I'm thinking about another one, I just wish the lease deals were the same as the one I got 3 years ago (3h on 6+35 @£250 pm). I was going to get the Countryman PHEV, but my wife really wants a preheating option and loves the idea of a heated steering wheel, neither of which you can get with the...

About to drive into France - any tips?

The breath analyser issue is a really weird quirk of French law. The law states you are still required to carry one, but the legislation also allows for no penalty if you are found without one. So if you're stopped and found not to have one, the police cannot do anything to punish you (even...

My GX3 wont fully charge to 32 Miles

I got 34 miles this morning, drove 9 miles and still had 27 left! Unfortunately I then charged up so I never found out the maximum I might have got from the guessometer, but I was pleased to see 34 on screen, even if you never actually get that many miles in real life. Certainly beats the 16s...
