I am driving a 2014 model on which there's no way to stop the petrol engine from starting. I think I've read somewhere the newer models do have an EV only or pure EV mode. From which year is that the case ? After the lease expires, I am considering buying a second hand newer model, so would like...
I completely agree that it's hardly worth it to try to charge on the go purely on a cost basis. But the car is at its best when relying on its electric drive train so it's a nice indulgence if there is the opportunity.
Same here. It is also dependent on the selected cabin temperature. Just tonight, reducing from 22 to 20 stopped the engine. Outside temperature was 10C.
Yes, I've read that on another forum and it happened with mine yesterday evening. Temperature was about 8C (it's a Gx4h, the one with MMCS). After a few minutes, I thought of pressing the ECO button and the ICE stopped. Not sure if it was a coincidence or not.
Don't forget the drive train is more expensive that a conventional one. Given that in a lot of markets, the key selling point is how its price is comparable to the diesel version, a lot of cost cutting must have been required to achieve that goal.
On longer trips we tend to stop for 20 to 30 min for a bite and drink so a charge can't hurt if there is a free rapid. But for normal weekend use when pushing it a bit further than the usual local errands and going say to a not too distant attraction, I wouldn't object paying maybe £2 for a full...
Since the first time I've connected my phone to the car's wifi, I get regular reminders that the software needs updating but I have held off after reading a report of a car being bricked (maybe by coincidence) after the update.
What have fellow forum members done ? Done it ? waiting for the...
radio6 and other bbc channels were initially missing from my list despite multiple rescans but suddenly became available. I saved 6music (which was I was really looking for) as a preset and it has never been out of reception since...
Completely agree, I frequently cycle to work and sometimes have checked out some silent car, thinking it must be an EV and found it wasn't even an hybrid. Some rear engine buses also are as good as silent when you are ahead of them, which is when it matters !
But I agree that extra attention...
Can't say I have done much mileage so far but it is quite a comfortable motorway cruiser. At 70 mph, you'd have to guess the gas engine is engaged and it is definitely very stable and in my limited experience showed no sensitivity to side winds. It's not sluggish when accelerating at these...
Yes, it's a pretty inexpensive car to insure. I pay way more than that, but that's because I have 2 inexperienced drivers on the policy. Still just a bit more than £400. I feared it'd be way more than that.
