Nope. I battled with this issue for 3 years and never figured it out. I traded in the Outlander for a Mustang Mach-E earlier this year, and that charges at the same station perfectly every time. My wife also got a RAV4 Prime, which also works every time.
Yeah, you don't have to worry about Mitsubishi hitting the 200k limit any time soon. However, there is currently a bill in Congress that could potentially eliminate all EV credits. That's anyone's guess, but the fact that Democrats now control the House make it much less likely to pass.
I like it. If you can keep your driving to around 25 miles between charges, it's fantastic. If you drive a lot more than that, you may not be happy with the efficiency. The most annoying thing about the vehicle is the creaky driver's seat, which Mitsubishi USA seems to think isn't a problem.
The USA will not get the bulk of the updates for 2019. This is just dealers not knowing what they're talking about, which is not uncommon in my experience. You'd think they would really do their homework and become fanatical about the products that they sell, but that is very rarely the case...
Canadian dealers have been informed that the mechanical upgrades will NOT make it to Canada for 2019. I'm pretty sure that means the same will be true for the USA.
