IOS Maps not working when wifi connected to car

Either do as ThudnBlundr suggests, or alternatively (or even as well!) when connected to the car wifi look at the settings and jot down the IP and subnet mask. Change 'configure IP' from auto to manual, populate the IP address and subnet mask with the values they were (leave Router blank) and...

    Charging advice for a newbie?

Assuming 32.5mpg on petrol, a petrol cost of £1.20 per litre and an electric range of 20 miles, the breakeven cost is around £3.35. With a full charge of say 8.5KwH, you would need to be paying more than 36p per kw for charging costs to be more expensive. If you tweak the numbers and say a mpg...

    Replace standard bulbs for LED

a number of us have done this without issue. The only problem you might get is the leds have a larger circumference and don’t fit through the fitting. To sort this, just use a step drill bit to widen the hole.

    How I updated my sat-nav.

WHats interesting is that it is the first post from the person. I would be questioning what their link is to the company.

Long term vehicle storage and charging

I've never had to try so can't say. However, I know that the 2pm top-up triggers my home charger to come on for a few seconds each time so yes, over an extended period, the battery will eventually get to fully charged. You could start with a discharged battery and assuming that takes 3 hours to...

Long term vehicle storage and charging

If this was me, I would discharge to near empty and then leave it connected to the charger but use the charging timing so it only charges for 10 mins per week. The car will automatically keep the 12v battery topped up at 2pm each day and then the once a week on the charger ensures no overall...

New Outlander 2014 owner with questions :)

The cable may or may not lock in to the charge post. For example, some over here from podpoint will release the cable once it is disconnected at the car end. I just use a padlock - 5mm iirc - on the car end. Sure, someone who is determined would probably be able to break it but it discourages...

    Recommended (not winter/all season) tyres?

Ive used hankook on previous cars without issues - more mid range brand rather than budget.

    Fill ups

Is it not that you need to use 15 litres and therefore if you’ve used half a tank you met the criteria for not being forced to run the engine?

Cruise Control speed (set at) displayed on MMCS

Mine doesn't, nor did my previous car :)

    Reduced Battery Range

There doesn't seem to be an issue. The ~30% shown as the starting point on the rapid chargers is correct. It's much less about having a reserve and more about protecting the battery. You'd have noticed a reduction in range recently purely because of the cooler weather, and depending on how...

    SatNav on a 4H - Where?

So this assumes many things! That there is sufficient charge to pre-heat, the schedule is known, the pre-heat had been set and not forgotten, the journey is sufficiently long enough to warrant pre-heating etc. Additionally, the heated screen running from the 12v source also means that you don't...
