    A question about the Warranty

What an appalling attitude. I know it is tempting to use a dealer that is nearest for the convenience offered - but in this case there appears to be no convenience - just the opposite in fact. What level within the company have you had contact with? Sales might be able to pick you up if service...

Is a PHEV the "right" choice to tow a caravan ?

Just back after 2 caravan holidays in the UK with my 1500kg Swift. First was from south Cumbria to Bamburgh, Northumberland - about 170 miles. I Used M6 north from j36 up to Carlisle, A69 east to Newcastle then A1 north. Kept a good average speed, aiming for 60mph on motorways and dual...

Maintaining SOC while towing a caravan / under heavy load

I had the same arrangement as standard on my last VW Passat Alltrack & previous Tiguan. To re-introduce "engine braking" I could either dab the footbrake lightly, select a manual gear with the DSG gear selecter or disable the "coasting" function in the OBD menu. With the Mitzy, selecting B0 for...

Is a PHEV the "right" choice to tow a caravan ?

Well, with my 20-22mpg experience mentioned above I would be very twitchy at 200 miles.

    Kids in locked car

Once you switch off just lift the wiper control stalk for a couple of seconds (flick wipe setting, against the spring return) and there will be a beep. Exit and lock the car as usual. The internal sensors are then deactivated for that occassion only. I do it regularly when I do a quick errand...

    Flappy paddle discovery

Flap it once more and you get B0 - freewheeling. Means you can coast quite a distance using no energy at all.

Charging at a campsite in the UK

I have a 2 year old caravan. At Easter I was on a site with a 16amp hook-up. At bedtime I set the heating down to a 4amp max draw (option of 8 or 4amps) with room temperature to 15 degrees for overnight. The fridge was on electric too, and remained on overnight. No other electrics were used. I...

This thread: http://www.myoutlanderphev.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1323 offers a lot of information on the subject.

    First Charge

The same sort of sounds occur on my 16 amp podpoint unit when charging either the LEAF or the Outlander...it's normal, the relays tripping in or out I thought.

    GX3H PHEV Charging

No pre-setting is available on the GX3h. The only way round might be to have some sort of timer on your charger supply, if it could handle the load.

    Spotted!

A flurry in Cartmel, Cumbria! Just using the LEAF to take the dogs for their usual walk, parking in Cartmel Racecourse car park and followed a white 14 reg in, identical to my own Outlander. On my return from the walk it was still parked up and then a black 14 reg example circled the car park...

Is a PHEV the "right" choice to tow a caravan ?

Just returned from a break on Wales with my 1500Kg Swift Challenger Sport...175 miles each way from South Cumbria to outside Barmouth. Roughly 50% motorway, 50% A roads. Managed 22mpg outbound and 20mpg return leg (but much windier today). Previously I had a Passat Alltrack 170 bhp DSG 2 litre...

10,000 sold in UK last year

I did a 100 mile trip on Easter Sunday to visit my sister and charged up at hers for the return journey...on switching on I saw an estimated 39 mile battery range! It soon depleted though. The last 10-15 miles to hers were gentle downhill gradients by-and-large, so returning on the same route...

    Time change GMT -BST

I have a GX3h too and checked the clock yesterday - it had already updated itself automatically...but the above info is a bonus for sure.
