Once you switch off just lift the wiper control stalk for a couple of seconds (flick wipe setting, against the spring return) and there will be a beep. Exit and lock the car as usual. The internal sensors are then deactivated for that occassion only. I do it regularly when I do a quick errand...

The same sort of sounds occur on my 16 amp podpoint unit when charging either the LEAF or the Outlander...it's normal, the relays tripping in or out I thought.

No pre-setting is available on the GX3h. The only way round might be to have some sort of timer on your charger supply, if it could handle the load.

I did a 100 mile trip on Easter Sunday to visit my sister and charged up at hers for the return journey...on switching on I saw an estimated 39 mile battery range! It soon depleted though. The last 10-15 miles to hers were gentle downhill gradients by-and-large, so returning on the same route...
