    Bye bye ecotricity?

Exactly! I replied to the email with "No thanks! That makes it more expensive than petrol." Surely they've got their charging model wrong if it alienates the large PHEV market.

    Flappy paddle functions

I'm pretty sure the markings on the paddles are just a carry over from using them for semi-auto gear change on other models. Mitsubishi just didn't bother re-tooling to remove or change the markings for the PHEV. You can imagine they mean whatever you want but they probably mean nothing! ;)

    Eco versus Normal drive modes?

I don't think the ECO button makes any difference to overall economy, not in my pattern of usage anyway. I have mentioned this before on another thread though that I do actually think it has another use. By reducing throttle response it can make for a much smoother drive in stop/start traffic...

    Yorkshire

Had my first service today. Carried out by M&B Motor Group of Bradford. Overall it was a very good experience. The appointment was booked at less than 2 days notice, I was provided with a brand new ASX courtesy car, the service was carried out with no issues and the car was cleaned inside and...

    Reversing Light Options (MY16)

I reverse in the dark every day and have never had a problem. I always thought the reversing light was to inform others that you are reversing, not to provide illumination for you to see where you're going and therefore the wattage is similar to an indicator rather than a headlamp. Isn't this...

    Reversing Light Options (MY16)

I've never seen the reversing light... I'm usually driving when it comes on ;) What exactly is wrong with it?

    Killing acoustic vehicle alerting system

...and the Green Cross Code man said "Stop, Look, Listen!" It's a stupid argument. If it makes pedestrians safer it's a good thing and of course, some people don't have the benefit of sight.

    Killing acoustic vehicle alerting system

I agree. It is entirely natural for pedestrians to use their hearing along with their sight (assuming they are not visually impaired) to judge traffic conditions. Therefore I'm amazed there is even the option to switch the noise off. If there is the slightest chance that it helps to avoid an...

    GX3h or GX4h?

I have the 3h+ and am very happy with it. I prefer the seats to full leather but still get the benefit of heated front seats and the pre-heat function, which I do use every day at the moment. The reversing sensors are fine, my wife goes from her Chevy Spark (tiny) to the Outlander and has no...

Android App and vehicle software update

I'm still on 1.3.7 I noticed the update but the "What's New" only says the following: 1. Fixes issue that Timer Charge does not work As I've not had any problem with this I didn't bother updating. Perhaps I'm missing things from 1.3.8 or 1.3.9 though??

    MPG (Thinking of buying)

I looked at the Merc too. Mine is a company car and I had two basic requirements when choosing a car. 1. Lowest possible BIK 2. Large, practical boot area (so SUVs and estate cars only) So the estate version of the Merc was an obvious contender alongside the Outlander. I was almost seduced by...

    MPG (Thinking of buying)

I do a 60 mile each way commute which is mostly motorway (although often congested). Charging at both ends (lucky to have free CYC charger in the office car park!) I can average over 70mpg if I keep motorway speed to 65mph. Pushing the speed up rapidly decreases this mpg and I've seen an...

    45K miles in 17 months

I assumed this was intentional to prevent feedback on phone calls. It seems to work very well in my experience.

Torque build up "off the line"

I tried to account for this in my video. I shouted "go" when I hit the floor with the pedal so that I would have a clear point to start the clock at zero. You can see that there is a delay between "go" and the car beginning to move and pick up speed. I suspect that this delay may be improved...

Torque build up "off the line"

Sorry, I meant to set it to unlisted. You should be able to see it now.

Torque build up "off the line"

I don't claim that this adds anything particularly scientific but I took this video this morning. 100% SOC Charge enabled Straight from the brake pedal to the accelerator (so no pre power loading). I need to calibrate the speedo with a GPS unit but depending on the accuracy and lag of the...

    Brake light B4 and B5

According to Mitsubishi the brake lights only come on when in B4 at speeds of 81mph and above and when in B5 at speeds of 25mph and above, so they will not be on all the time in slow moving traffic.

New grant announcement (UK) - Beyond Feb 2016 [Merged topic]

https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-plug-in-grant-will-treble-number-of-greener-cars-on-britains-roads So the PHEV grant will continue but at a reduced rate of £2500.

    Sub woofer in boot

I also work with pro PA equipment and have a love of great sound quality and a loathing of poor in-car systems. I have spent many hours and pounds upgrading in-car systems in the past with good quality after-market components (always starting with the speakers that are usually the weakest link)...

    What cable(s) do I need?

I just bought one of these, in orange. It's very well made and does the job! Certainly don't pay the Mitsubishi dealer prices. https://evconnectors.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=j1772&product_id=122
