    is the car plugged in and charging while its locked and your hearing these noises? if so, it could be the on board charger cooling doing its thing. it will make noises, and pump coolant through to the front radiator while its charging.

    Mitsubishi make a lot more things than cars. they have bene making electronic components for a lot longer, and im sure there are Mitsubishi electronic components in almost every car on the road. hence, why i think they have nailed the electronic technology side of the PHEV.

    dont know about sensor placement, but there isnt that much behind the grill, but some interesting stuff inside the front guards in front of the wheels. though looking at the unplugged wire sitting on top of the bumper bar, that might be a temp sensor.. unsure yet, will need to confirm...
