    REcall - software update

My year old PHEV has just had its first annual service (pre-paid) & the dealer tells me it was subject to recall for a software update, but could not advise what the effect would be. Anyone know what the update involved please?

    Remote Control phone registration problem

I changed my Samsung S7 on Android 8.0.0 for a more robust S7Active on Android 7. The former & an iPhone had been registered to the 18 plate G4h without difficulty. I de-registered the S7 but could not register the S7Active & so re-registered the S7. Anyone can suggest why I can't register the...

    Safety Recall UK

I've just had my notice for recall of my 14 plate PHEV in respect of our old friends the parking brake caliper shaft boots. I have had both sides replaced in the past, a year apart, but the notice says they need looking at again regardless. I'm surprised that the recall has taken so long since...

Cracked DRL / Fog lamp lens - old style

I got an advisory from MOT about the cracked DRL / fog light lens - lights still work. Has anyone replaced one of these? Is it a dealer job or fairly simple? Cost/

    Tyre wear

A new set of four 18 months ago and the two fronts are badly worn on the outer edges, especially the left one. I had full alignment after the last replacements. After discussion with the tyre fitters, I will run for another 1000 miles or so & have a complete set of Toyos. He read over a safety...

    A Couple of Issues

Now 3 years old and 34k miles. Had just had service and MOT when the handbrake went slack and failed to hold. Diagnosed as a seized rear brake caliper - as Bob Engineer's. Dealer told me they had seen a few of these on ASXs but mine was the first they'd seen on a PHEV. Part obtained next day and...

    Low Tyre Pressure warning

I have searched through the threads on TPMS and the like and am more confused than ever. I got my GX4H in July 14 and wasn't aware of any TPMS until a day ago when I got a bong and a warning symbol on the main dash at start up. I can found no reference to the system in the handbook. No tyre...

Remote app. New phone registration problem

I have upgrading from a Galaxy S3 to and S7 phone so de-registered the old phone in the app settings and went through the procedure to register the new one. I got the appropriate tone in acc mode, new phone picked up the car's SSID, and the password was correctly input within the time allowed...

    Wear to brake linings

I usually drive to maximise economy and use regen braking where possible. I am curious as to whether this practice makes much difference to the wear to brake pads compared to the diesel version. Does anyone know if linings last longer on the PHEV?

    Replacement Key

After my wife's bag was stolen :( , we had a number of keys to replace including the Phev. Quote for a replacement fob, blade and re-program of replacement and surviving key was just under £350 :o . It was a 30 min job on our Toyota and the local Mitsu dealer said it should take half an hour...

Will £5K Govt Grant for EVs Continue?

According to Daily Telegraph Motoring Section, manufacturers think the money will run out.... The Govt Strategy document is a year old and promised £500M funding 2015-2020 with a target of having plug-ins reach 5% of all sales by 2020. Someone has calculated that would mean 120K vehicles a year...

    TMC

After one month of ownership and 1200 or so miles, very happy with the car, and glad to have traded in a diesel Xtrail, especially given all the current anti diesel publicity. Most recent re-fill showed 104 mpg which included 2 x 120 mile runs, though I do charge almost every night. However the...

Liitle orange light - what is it?

What is the orange light between the sunroof switches and the front seats' room light switch. It seems to come on randomly. I must have missed it in the manuals, which put me to sleep. Please enlighten me.

Suggestions - How Mitsubishi might improve PHEV

I don't know how much, if any, attention Mitsubishi Customer Services would pay to owners' forums (perhaps existing Mitsu owners can advise), but have already noted how quickly they act on social media postings. Nissan Uk's outsourced and arms length customer services certainly had a very bad...

    Before the PHEV...

Perhaps it would be interesting to discover (no pun intended) what new owners are changing from? In my case, PHEV will replace a diesel T31 Xtrail Tekna which has served well. (A T30 Xtrail preceded it). I look forward to comparing my new and old cars.
