Time to try something new, goodbye PHEV.

After 3 years with my PHEV it is time to hand it back. Collection is arranged for tomorrow morning. It has been a great car and even though I only originally chose it as a company car due to the low tax and big size I quickly became impressed by electric power. Never really got on with the seats...

    UK Drivers earn £50-£100

Received my payment as well. The bank deducted £1 fee for the transaction, they did write me a nice letter to inform me of the charge which I suspect cost them more than £1.

MMCS keeps going back to the start of the play list.

Rather than reformat I think you just need to reduce the amount of data and/or the number of folders.

MMCS keeps going back to the start of the play list.

I had a similar issue. It started after I loaded some new albums onto, the usb stick. Removing some albums solved the issue, so it was either too many folders or too much data (I Had over 8gb, but with around 5gb it is okay).

How to drive the ***** from someone in a sporty car :-)

As I said before, you need to get out more.

How to drive the ***** from someone in a sporty car :-)

You need to get out more. The PHEV is not as quick off the lights as a truly sporty car. For instance my 911 will leave it for dead and it is only a carrera not the quicker turbo. If you want to experience a truly quick car off the lights try a tesla with ludicrous or insane mode engaged.

button on tip of indicator lever

Not strictly true. It is a UK legal requirement to have headlight washers on headlights over a certain lumen output. There are some HID equipped cars which do not need them as they use lower power HIDs. I suspect that most LED headlight cars will be over the lumen threshold and require washers.

Lots of new PHEVs at Portbury docks.

I cycled round he outskirts of Portbury docks today and was surprised to see one of the overspill car parks full of new PHEVs. This is the first time I have seen them from the cycle path, previously they have been parked in one of the car parks away from the public. It was an impressive sight...

    Tesla 3 launch

I understand why those of you who go off-road, or carry lots of cargo, or regularly go long distances would not consider an electric vehicle ( for the foreseeable future). But I do not go off-road, I do not carry lots of cargo and I have other cars for really long distance travel. I use my...

    Tesla 3 launch

I put down a deposit on launch day. My PHEV goes back in the second half of 2017 so I hope the gap between them is not too long. Not sure why some are saying a tesla 3 is not a competitor/ replacement for a PHEV as it is with me.

    Dialing confirmation

It is possible to turn off off the repeating of the dialled. Umber and the "are you sure?" Question. I cannot remember how I did it though! I think it is in the phone setup menu and the option is dialling confirmation on or off.

    Swap speaker for phone calls?

I have quite few cars with hands free kits and all of them use the speaker from the passenger side for phone calls. One of the kits was retrofitted professionally (a parrot kit) and I asked the installer why the passenger side speaker was used, he told me that it was to do with the noise...

my 2014 has the mould starting to grow, good for the eco credentials.

Spare parts for UK PHEV owners?

How is it a joke? The seller is a professional car breaker. The actual listing for £10 is actually for a single wheel bolt ( it is stated in the listing) not the whole car. I am trying to think if there is anything on a GX4 which would be worth me getting for my GX3.

What is this little window for???

A replacement windscreen should not affect the vin number. The vin number plate on top the dashboard is not removed for a new windscreen. There is a gap behind the little window and the vin is on the dash top. You may have to look quite carefully to see it as it not immediately obvious.

    Killing acoustic vehicle alerting system

On the uk rhd model it can be disabled by removing the electrical connector from a small silver box located above the passenger side footwell.

    Stay plugged after charge

I leave mine plugged in for days at a time. No problem.

    CD changers

I am reasonably sure you cannot easily. But why would you when it can take a usb stick loaded with many many albums and I think the higher spec models can also take an sd card which does the same.

Parking Sensors - front and rear

The rear sensors fitted a standard to the gx3h are not the same as the ones in the handbook. They are aftermarket ones, presumably fitted at Portbury docks when they come into the country.

    Driving Position - Seat Height

6'2" and even with the seat in the lowest position I find it too high. It is bearable. It not ideal. I do like the backrest quite upright though which does not help.
