Anyone else who wouldn't have a PHEV again?

I gave up my PHEV almost a year ago as I had stopped enjoying journeys and got fed up plugging it in to go 25 miles on electric. I bought a one year old Mtsubishi Shogun Barbarian SWB with tow bar etc etc at £10k less than list with 5k miles on the clock. It is noisier and thirstier than the...

    Wheels

I have carried a spare in the boot for two years. Steel wheel but exactly same diameter/rolling radius as the standard wheels. Peace of mind for long journeys and I don't miss the boot space. Those with greater space needs may find it inconvenient.

NE England - Winter Wheels & Tyres for sale

One of my fellow pilots at the gliding club just bought a second hand PHEV and has agreed to buy the wheel/tyres, I chucked in my spare wheel as well which he will get when I exchange my PHEV for another vehicle. If this sale falls through I will contact those who have expressed an interest and...

NE England - Winter Wheels & Tyres for sale

Apologies. Good questions and i should have put that information on here. I know they are undamaged but I'll check the tread depth when I get back home today.

    Winter Tyres on PHEV

Not sure if this helps - I got these a couple of years ago. Been fine for two winters. I just switch the sensor from A to B or vice versa each swop. I sent the TPMS sensors to wheelbase, they fitted them and sent the wheels out with tpms/tyres fitted. All I had to do was stick them on and get...

How to have a 360° view while you drive?

Really harsh comments and not in keeping with the ethos of this forum in my opinion.

Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh please make the beeps stop

How did I ever manage for 43 years without the beeps??? Those that want them can have them, personally, I want them all off!

Aaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh please make the beeps stop

You can stop the seat belt beep by disconnecting the sensor cable under the drivers seat - how to do it is on a thread in the forum somewhere. Unfortunately according to a Mitsubishi mechanic the speaker for the beeps is deep in the dashboard and hard to disconnect. A red warning light on the...

    Impossible Advertising

I think that they could get closer to having fewer calculations if a longer distance in controlled conditions was used. The car magazines seem to manage it pretty well so perhaps officialdom could learn from them and then apply the controlled conditions necessary for credibility and...

No it has an electric heater. See the discussion on Pure EV and also the discussion on stopping ICE for heating. They are focussed on making the car's characteristics more user friendly for those owners that would like less ICE when the battery has sufficient capacity to be used (I am one of those).

Looking forward to the day when they do real tests which do not require complex calculations. At least 300k on mixed roads or a test track set up to reflect real world driving. For hybrids they could do battery full starts and battery empty starts on various road types. Whatever was required to...

    Inconsiderate PHEV Owner in Hexham

Unfortunately with the length of cable available at these particular chargers it is not possible to plug in a PHEV when that space is occupied. Leaf yes, PHEV - no.

    Inconsiderate PHEV Owner in Hexham

UPDATE According to some other EV owners in the areas, this car is apparently well known for being left regularly all day in EV Charging bays, blocking access to the charger. Any suggestions (legal only)!!

    Inconsiderate PHEV Owner in Hexham

I suspect they were in the Sports Centre next to Waitrose but I really didn't want to unplug someone's car or make announcements in Waitrose or the Sports Centre. Hopefully the notice on their windscreen will make them think about it next time! Normally I can plug in and have my shopping done in...

Three different connectors of which the only suitable one was plugged into the PHEV. Also - the cables are fairly short and you have to be parked in that bay to connect easily.

    Inconsiderate PHEV Owner in Hexham

Visited Waitrose (Hexham) on 10.10 am Sunday 13th March. Couldn't plug in because of a grey PHEV hooked up. No problem - but went over to see how long they had to go. Discovered it wasn't on charge. 50 mins later - still hooked up - still not on charge. Really unimpressed with anyone who hogs...

Anyone else who WOULD have a Mitsubishi Phev again?

Anko, get your facts right before making sweeping statements. I had a MITSUBISHI Shogun for 7 years before buying the Outlander, not a range Rover or Merc. The discussions on this forum alone would suggest that the design is not all it could be. Sticky buttons, pre-heat so the engine doesn't...
