    Camping and towing a trailer

I have towed all sorts of stuff with mine including heavy trailers from Bedford to Leeds along the M62 which is hilly. It didn't get any special treatment , was quite shouty getting up the hills at motorway speed but behaved fine. We went up in the alps with 4 bikes on a rear mounted rack too...

    Some PHEV tidbits

Never mind the battery and performance, android auto (or apple whatever) means the end of some of the crappiest bits of MMCS hopefully!

    Extended Test Drive (UK)

I had one for 3 or 4 days from mitsubishi Central as mine is a company car

Travelling in Europe from Uk, headlight adjustment

I made sure I had found the manual page about not needing beam benders on the HID lights recently when in France in case the police stopped me for dazzling everyone.

    PHEV Power Issue

No issues towing a heavy trailer over the M62 recently or driving family and bikes through the alps up some long, long gradients. It gets very "shouty" running like this but performance was fine. Not relaxing, sounds abusive but it is the manufacturers software making it happen so i guess i...

    Average cost of annual service

£340 for 25000 mile service last month

    Warning sound when towing?

I get boot beeps when indicating left or right with a trailer, UK requirement. I find it serves to remind you that the trailer is there when changing lane if nothing else!

    Dealer servicing

Definitely no tyre rotation going on.

    Dealer servicing

You are right Claymore, it does sound a bit harsh. The work really was just an oil and filter swap, I do have the paper in front of me and I don't have a great deal of choice where to take it so it doesn't make sense to me to spend hours researching it. Mitsubishi dealers aren't exactly on...

    Dealer servicing

My car has just had its 25k miles service and it was just short of £350. I had a ford before and so I know servicing can be good value but this sounds really quite steep for, what I imagine is, dropping the oil, computer check and fluids. Is this Mitsubishi standard pricing or not?

    Thin paint on the Phev

Some one drove into mine in a car park at Tesco yesterday. Unfortunately for him I was sat in the car at the time. What started out as me asking him why he drove into my car and him denying it escalated into him offering to knock my head off. Thug. However, once the layer of grime was wiped...

    Big towing - update

Over the last week I have been exhibiting with my employer at a tradeshow. As part of this my car was needed to haul all the contents of our show stand as well as a large trailer initially to the show site then on to a customer to deliver the trailer to its owner immediately after the show. We...

ECO button on my 2016 Outlander PHEV

Not actually helpful, but I gave up pressing it in the end because I preferred the way it drives with it off and doesn't seem to make any difference to my range!

    Apple Carplay

I would go with precisely zero chance of that happening on the existing hardware as an upgrade. Who ever designed MMCS couldn't even get the basics right let alone implementing something as complex as carplay or android auto (not everyone has an apple device!)

    Let's go pure EV...

My mother used to throw that quote at me quite often when i was sailing

Loss of drive power [merged topic]

We had this the other day but it turned out my wife had had knocked the shifter while turning round to talk to our daughter sitting in the back.

    Pre-heating stopped working

Noticed in the last few days that the pre-heating isn't anymore. The MMCS is showing the correct time for daylight saving by automatic as far as I can see. The timers are all set to Timer 1 during the week which comes on at 07:40 for 20 mins. It will still kick it in manually if i go into the...

    How Safe Do You Feel

I feel like I am missing something in my car buying choices. I don't think I have ever so much as looked at collision safety ratings. I have always been of the opinion that modern cars are intrinsically much safer than ever before. I get that you would steer clear from a few obvious things...

Rear Electric Motor can be heard

I often get "Essence of tube train" when driving round town

    Let's go pure EV...

So, to confirm: It is a software rather than hardware based modification? It enables EV-only running by pressing "ECO" It bumps the E-motor only power output cap up from 60kW to 70kW. Sounds good
