LED Indicators?

As an avid fan of LEDs (filaments are soooo last decade darling :idea: ) I would like to replace the indicators to LEDs (practically the only conventional bulbs left in the car) and just wondered if it is a simple swap. I know that if I remove a bulb the standard 'quick flash' warning happens but I am wondering if an LED will give the same error. I am hoping that the flasher unit is electronic and not the antique bi-metal thingy - I certainly don't want to get involved with ballast resistors etc which defeat the object of fitting LEDs.

How did it go?
I see you have written "Led everywhere" in your signature.
And what plugs (sockets(?)) are used for the interior lighting bulbs?
I get my phev in 5 days and plan on replacing as many conventional bulbs with leds as possible.
Hope, some of my led collection will fit, so I wouldn't have to wait for the overseas delivery for to long...
