Just found this:

The Mitsubishi recommended space saver is:

Spare wheel and tyre

Type: Steel type
Size: 17 × 4.0T
Amount of wheel offset (mm) 40
PCD: (mm) 114.3
Tyre Size: T155/80D17

I'll track down the Mitsubishi part number.

Interesting, so comparing sizes:
Code:
Specification Sidewall Section Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
225/55-18 4.9in 8.9in 27.7in 87.2in 727 0.0%
155/80-17 4.9in 6.1in 26.8in 84.1in 754 -3.5%

It's a "thin" wheel but almost the same diameter as the original one.- 3.5% difference in wheel speeds. So is this an official Mitsubishi recommend fitment for the PHEV?
I couldn't find anything in the manual.

225/55 R18
225/50 R17
215/55 R17
215/70 R16
215/60 R16

These are the tyre sizes specified for the Outlander in general. Obviously, normally the same tyres must be fitted on all four wheels.

I have also been to a Mitsubishi dealer & got part number: 4250C409 for the STANDARD black steel wheel (16x6.5j PCD114.3 ET38) £118.94 each + vat

Similar wheel available here:

Steel Rims for Mitsubishi OUTLANDER 3 4WD 2.0 HYBRID (16x6.5j PCD114.3 ET38) £50.60 each including vat

Good find on the workshop manuals. But the 2017 manual has no PHEV info in it. This 2016 one does

But I can't see tyre specs in that. Interesting to see it mentions an (apparently) underslung spare wheel holder for the non-PHEV. I had a look underneath mine this morning and I don't that the void is big enough to hold a spare as the silencer takes up a lot of the space. Presumably the diesels have a different exhaust routing.

The diesel does have an underslung spare wheel. It also has a different exhaust. Even with the same rear exhaust I think that the rear electric motor would not allow sufficient room for a spare to be fitted.
