I did mine on my drive and it was about 7 hours but I did have a lot of interruptions from kids (dad, can you do.....) and from locals passing, stopping and chatting (a bit of an occupational hazard as I work in the village too). I think it would have been quicker if I hadn’t read the...
Thanks for the thoughts Mr Pastry, I’m leaning towards a flange bar to put a bumper protector behind it.
Box and single horse should be well within PHEV capability (1250kg in total), I won’t be towing it with two though!
I will have a look out for a witter .
Sorry to dig up an old thread but I am looking at buying and self installing a towbar and wondered what the thoughts are for the best options out there.
I don’t want to cut the bumper, I know that much, and did think a removable unit would be best but I have to wonder if we would ever remove...
Sorry, no, I'm afraid not. As was mentioned in the previous post, the PHEV cannot make use of the additional power from a 7kw charge, so the only benefit is possible future proofing.
The PHEV can rapid charge using the second charge point and the Phase 3 rapid chargers from the likes of...
We'll I'm still waiting to get mine finalised so it looks like I will be using an outdoor 13 amp socket and the standard charger having had problems with pod point, british gas, chargemaster and then EV charging centre.
I genuinely didn't think it would be this difficult
Well, after some more phone calls to EV charging centre I spoke to a call centre manager earlier in the week and he confirmed that 'human error' meant that my installation was not added to the job sheet for the contractor last week. I accepted that (with good grace as we all make mistakes) and...
There are a fair number of people buying this car and coming from the 'premium' German brands. I wonder if Mitsubishi saw that coming! I bet the motoring press didn't, though I appreciate a lot is to do with the company car benefit advantages.
I've been on the phone to them today and it is a company in Nottingham called EV charging centre (evchargingcentre.com) that is supposed to deal with the chargemaster installs. I spoke to a lady called Vicky who I believe was the same lady that I spoke to before as she said she had some...
Hi Chris, being a small business owner myself in a business that is often derided (I will say no more!) I feel your pain for being 'tarred with the same brush' as the bigger operators (apologies for that inference it was just the name was similar but I cant remember it as I didn't think i would...
Sounds great Chris but since I can't get people to call me back or, it seems, turn up as arranged (Chargemaster installer due to come tonite but didn't turn up & no call to say why-could that have been EV charging solutions?) I'm wondering what I need to do to get one of these mythical charge...
Don't forget the 4 will have a higher residual value in years to come. Not an issue if you plan to keep it forever, but the £600pa will be less by the time you consider residual value of a future trade in or sale.
I thought I would share this with everyone as I thought it might bring a smile.
I've struggled to get a charge point installed, I first contacted pod point as there is a local installer that put me on to them. He gave me the forms he had and I filled them in scanned them and sent them back...
