    Takeoff routine

Why the common need to turn off the pedestrian warning sounder? From inside the car i cant hear if it is on or off, even with the windows wound down! I don't think I could live with the consequences if someone stepped out in front of the car because they couldn't hear it after I had turned...

What to expect when i get home?

Well I am back home now to the freezing cold 24 degC weather! Happy to report absolutely no problems when picking up the PHEV after 3 weeks and 1 day parked (after parking with low charge and leaving pre-heaters turned on and active!). Charge indicator showed no bars, but everything started...

What to expect when i get home?

Snowing in Derbyshire....... that makes me feel much better knowing my PHEV will possibly be dead when I get home! Thanks for the information, at least I am prepared for the problem now. Peter

    Brake light behaviour

Can someone explain the technical advantage of not changing down has over changing down through the box as you slow down? Is it safer, or just easier? To me it adds additional braking reserved being in the correct gear as opposed to effectively freewheeling to a halt! Peter

What to expect when i get home?

I am currently on holiday in the philippines 8-) , but that's not the problem  I parked my 2016 phev at the airport, but forgot to turn off pre-heating! It will be parked for three weeks. I presume the main battery will be flat, but what should I expect from the smaller 12v...

    Unofficial PHEV wifi app

Can I second that? Nice to have a preheated car when i finish work, as well as the mornings. Biggest disappointment with the app. :( Peter

An Idiots Guide to using the Remote Heating option

Today an observation regarding pre-heating:- My normal morning is pre-heating ON at 8:10 (by timer) and set off about 8:30, in a nice warm car. This morning I had to drop my wife off earlier about 15 miles away, which meant i arrived home at about 8:00 with a flat battery. Thought I would...

    Help with the charging issue

Anko Thanks, didn't know that, but keeping the interior toasty certainly prevents ICE from starting on frosty mornings. Using the 13A charger means either turning the heating off earlier to allow the battery to top up before driving away (and causing ICE to start up for the heater), or start...

    Help with the charging issue

I have been charging via 13 amp plug, but just had a 32A charge point installed. Reasons are:- Keep a check on actual electricity cost of car, as installation has its own meter. Don't need to keep the expensive 13Amp charge converter unit outside all night, waiting to be pinched. Needed to use...

TOMTOM UK EV Charge Points POI

Hi New on here, been lurking for a while, but just taken delivery of a new GX3h+ (Leather  ). Been looking for some POI for my TOMTOM Go 400, but couldn't find any anywhere. So used "open charge" information via their API interface, and created my own .OV2 file, which is working in...
