Just sold my PHEV which I bought new in 2014.
I bought it primarily for London driving (including the congestion zone). I wasn't expecting it to be great but six years of ownership left me really impressed with its abilities and the thought that went into the concept and engineering. It really...
I swapped out of the Toyos as soon as I could (25k) and have a set of Crossclimates on.
Very happy - they are a much better tyre and for the sake of less than £100 over the Toyo replacements, in my view, great value for the extra capability and safety for the winter months.
Costco is a good...
My tuppence -
1. Assume you can charge at home. Makes a big difference on running costs and you can pre-heat for those Scottish mornings.
2. It's a bit bigger than a Kuga but quite narrow which is good for City driving.
3. 4x4 is good but splash out on Michelin Crossclimates as soon as you can...
The first quote I've had is £478 (out of London).
A bit more than the £300 or so last year but presumably more work on the schedule.
I might try a couple more garages.
There was a very useful thread on 4th service costs in the UK for Mitsubishi dealers.
My 5th is due in June. Wondered if anyone has any experience/costs yet?
Just to add a slightly contrary view. I have a 2014 and did a side-by-side test drive. It is certainly improved but they are all marginal incremental improvements. The decision for me was whether to change - I get the 100% write-off but it is still over £30k out of my business - or buy it out...
Criticising headlight performance is not altogether the manufacturers fault but US legislation.
My PHEV came with xenon lights in the UK back in 2014 and they are pretty good.
My AMG Merc has LED lights which are even better.
I haven't had a car with halogen lights since 2000.
Laser is the next...
Try getting a quote from webuyanycar.
We had a similar situation last year albeit my company (my wife and I) owned the car so negotiating with ourselves.
Wanted the lowest justifiable price from any source and webuyanycar provided it .
I suspect their models rely on people being desperate for...
Just did mine at home. One was getting a bit weak on locking/unlocking. I did both - found a You Tube vid and sorted in about 5 minutes tops with a couple of batteries that cost about a quid for both.
If one was being charitable to the garage, with labour at say £2 a minute.....
But outrageous...
I had a Mirage auto loan car a couple of years ago - it was truly awful.
Therein lies the answer to why Mitsubishi dealers are a bit behind.....
The success of the PHEV has caught them all slightly by surprise.
Interesting comments. I have the Crossclimates on my PHEV but have a separate winter set for my Merc GLC which I take skiing to the Alps a couple of times a season.
Currently have Pirelli Scorpion winters which will last one more season but debating changing to a "winter-bias" all season for...
