Just wanted to say thanks for posting this Lez - I’ve had exactly this problem today, and my local garage ran into exactly this problem. I will tell them to take a look at these guys.

The XC40 does look cracking. I’m currently hoping to get the pure BEV version (to replace a diesel Skoda, not my precious Outlander, which I’m intending to run into the ground) when it comes out next year.

Sorry to hear this. I recently had the totally opposite experience with them. Intermittent problem with charging, and they came out and replaced the 2015 unit under warranty (which, like you, I had no idea was still valid) with no fuss.

I asked my local dealer to sort this out when my Outlander went in for a service last week, only to be told that there was a problem with the "fix" and so they had been told to stop doing it! It's completely ridiculous that it has taken Mitsu this long to sort this out :roll:

Let me know if you make any other discoveries when the snow arrives! Why would you need another set of wheels for winter tyres? I just had the winter tyres put on the wheels that came with the car - is that wrong?

I was responding to your final sentence which questions why any PHEV owner would not jump at a Tesla. Until it is as easy and quick to recharge a pure EV as it is to fill the tank of a petrol car, there will be a significant market for cars that can burn petrol - the PHEV gives something close...
