Possibly OT or possibly not: has anyone in Australia had any progress with WiFi or app on the 2023 model? The "instructions" aren't helpful because the start button in the car doesn't have a light... and that's just for starters (pun intended, but still not happy).
The dealer told me "not...
I've had some of these experiences and not others. 2023 Nov PHEV. We live at the bottom of a steep hill that extends about 200m directly in front of our garage... so pretty much the first thing that happens to the car is a steep climb.
If I'm very careful on the accelerator, the car will do...
I cheated... I simply haven't reset Trip 1 since I took delivery of the car (last November). I reset Trip 2 everytime I fill the tank. So far the two readings are pretty similar.
Wet-finger-in-air-calculations: my 2023 with 20kW battery was taking 9.5 hours to charge from empty on the Level 1 charger, with initial (measured) 2400W (10A) draw. That probably drops a bit as the charge nears completion because, if it were straight-line linear until full, 2400W into a 20kW...
Last year when our new 2023 Outlander was on the water from Japan I had many discussions about chargers with the dealer. Their lack of advice went beyond clueless - there was no product that they could or would sell, despite having a massive Kia charger on display. I did a lot of negotiating...
Freezing is not a problem we'd ever have where I live. But I didn't know that ethanol degrades quickly. Does that just reduce the octane level, or does something worse happen?
Interesting on choice of fuel. I asked and was told that E10 (pretty much the cheapest fuel you can buy in Australia) was just fine. Because I do mostly rural driving (and not a lot of that), I consume around a tank every month or two. It would be hard to work out whether another type of fuel...
I'm really surprised that a UK plug, rated at more than 10A gets anything like hot when the device on the end of it is drawing only 10A. I have no recollection of my Australian 3-pin plug (flat blades) getting particularly warm when run for an extended period. For a while I was using a pretty...
Hi, Jim. My Outlandish arrived in November, and I too updated the maps (for Australia).
And possibly essential if you drive (as I do) in areas where there's little or no phone reception.
And that would be a really good question because the performance of the nav system in my car is so bad...
The massage is more about your back than... 😂 I used the massager sparingly on the long trip. I suspect if I was doing a massively longer run (endless days of many more hours per day) that the massager would be more used. And, to be fair, I tend to not use airline seat massagers either...
My bad - I meant the Tourer. We went for that version - I rather got used to the orange, and Mrs TheMaiz actually liked it. I'm exceptionally impressed with the seats in the Tourer - on my last trip from Sydney to Queensland I drove for over five hours without stopping, and still felt fantastic.
