    LED lights - Dazzling question

I have a 4h (2.5yr old) with LED headlights. When I first owned the car, with headlights on there appeared to be twin lights on either side (when viewing a reflection). The LED low beam was mega bright and very white/cold. The halogen high beam was very orange and a bit pathetic really...

EV range map is not realtime.

I always thought it was a snap shot estimate of how far your range could take you. I assumed as it wasn't triggered from the main map display that there would be no real time update. For it's intended purpose it works. I think what the OP is asking for is an additional functional requirement...

    iPod woes

The MMCS isn't all bad, although some aspects are. I usually stream music from my phone (Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud etc) over bluetooth with no problems whatsoever....as long as I have wifi turned off. I don't think the sound quality is that bad at all. Ok, it's not super premium but...

    Leather seat problem

I've had leather seats in many cars and they nearly always end up stretched, mis-shapen or scuffed/cracked. I am a fat b***** though!

    Keyless Entry Problem?

Yes, I frequently get a problem if my phone is in the same pocket as the keys. Only time I've had a situation where I couldn't lock the car at all, it turned out that a small stone had found its way into the path of the boot closing properly (even though it looked closed!).

    Cornering Lights

I read the first post in this thread and became excited that there may be a feature of my car that I hadn't discovered! It seems not, but I am curious as to what the OP was experiencing!

No Dashboard Clock when power is off

Yes, but I tend to pull into parking spaces forward and therefore need to manually trigger the 360 camera much of the time, hence the annoyance. While we are on the subject of clocks, can I talk about the 'clock display' option on the MMCS?.... I actually find this representation of the analog...

    Apple CarPlay

I'm guessing that the higher spec models come with the MMCS which has a bunch of tailored bits of eco info about the PHEV, including the graphical representation of energy flow etc. Is it possible to retain that with CarPlay? If not, then it may explain why the PHEV and/or higher spec'ed...

Is the 'S' bit worth it?

I remember going on an advanced driver course many years ago, where on twisty lanes the recommendation was NOT to stay in lane but use the whole width of the road to maximise vision. Of course that doesn't apply on A-roads, but the point I'm making is that on country roads, lane discipline is...

No Dashboard Clock when power is off

I don't think my previous cars had a clock display with the ignition completely off either. What is a bit irksome however, is if you are in your car and want to check the time, you have to wait for the full boot sequence to complete on the MMCS thing in order to display the clock. I do agree...

    Average cost of annual service

My Lexus Hybrid was on a 10k interval

    Iphone disconnecting from Bluetooth

Any chance you can let us know the MMC software version number? (I assume it is accessible via the menus) Would be interested if this is a perm fix, as it's going into the dealers for a service in the next month

    Thin paint on the Phev

Just had car washed. 10k miles and I am generally a fairly slow, steady driver and have actively avoided any 'gravelly' roads where possible. Mostly just commute on A roads with occasional trips up/down motorway. And my bonnet is a mess. Counted about 15 chips, some seem quite deep. Oddly, not...

    Iphone disconnecting from Bluetooth

    Anyone actually tried this?

    Silver foil!

Japanese cars have always had a good record for reliability, but have always been a bit dodgy on the bodywork/paint side. I had a brand new Honda Civic Type S in 2007 and the forums at the time were full of people complaining about stone chipping. Mine wasn't too bad, but I still managed to...

    Brake light behaviour

I passed my test nearly 30yrs ago I have always been taught to brake, clutch in and select correct gear when stopped (or when needing to re-accelerate - such as an empty roundabout). When driving manuals, this always seemed pretty seamless to me. This was also an approach that wasn't changed by...

New owner questioning MPG Figures !!!

I'm seriously flabbergasted that someone has paid £30k+ on a car based on the advertised MPG figures from the manufacturer, and had not been advised that this is an 'ideal scenario' MPG by either the dealer or by reading any review of the car. Getting 35mpg on a long run in a heavy SUV such as...

    Oh Dear!

Yes, sharp intake of breath when seeing this news earlier, only to realise they weren't talking about the PHEV. As for people complaining about published MPG figures - that is a very different subject to emissions, and are inflated by every manufacturer. With PHEV's it's even more tricky as...

    Goodbyeeeee

The Outlander PHEV fuel tank is the same size as my Lexus CT one was, the same size as the Prius hybrids and the same size as the new Mercedes C-Class PHEV (and probably the new BMW PHEV as well). So it seems to be the norm for EV/Hybrid cars, presumably a design constraint due to the size of...

    Goodbyeeeee

I can see the OP's point to a degree, however I think the 'workflow' you use with the PHEV can be tweaked to be either more or less immersive in the EV technology depending on taste. Aside from the actual plugging in part, which can be made easier by using a tethered cable, you can pretty much...
