    2016 PHEV pics leaked

I think it looks a bit better than the non phev version. Wheels look like the concept version too. Available from July in Japan, so theoretically here by the end of the year. http://www.indiancarsbikes.in/cars/2016-brochure-of-mitsubishi-outlander-leaked-120026/

    Closing the gap with ACC

You didn't migrate to a PHEV from an Audi did you? ;-)

    Mercedes C350e Plug-in Hybrid

So it's going to cost me £120 per month more than the gx4h to lease through work, which I can't justify. It's beautiful, but I'll have the best part of 5000 reasons to prefer the Mitsubishi over 3 years. I'll just have to remind myself of that when I try to use the satnav. The merc is...

    Mercedes C350e Plug-in Hybrid

It's got my vote. Subject to NHS leasing quote my order will be going in this week. All the benefits of the Outlander (4wd aside), but none of the downsides, and a lot more oomph. That said, it it is much more expensive I'll still go for the 4h.

    Mercedes C350e Plug-in Hybrid

If the leasing costs are as competitive as mercs usually are, this looks like a winner. Edit: wow, depending on lease company the rates are very similar to the 4h, and circa £50 a month more with all the bells and whistles.

Where have you seen that confirmed?

purchase of the new 2016 model

There was something on one of the Australian car review websites saying that the PHEV won't be updated for a while - which is a pity as I've got to order fairly soon myself - and that it will look a bit different from the non-hybrid versions. Don't know what to take from this, but assume it will...

purchase of the new 2016 model

It looks like the 2016 PHEV hasn't been released anywhere yet. There are no pictures and no specification that I can find. I guess it is your proximity to Japan which means you've got early deliveries of the non-hybrid models. That might mean you're also early recipients of the PHEV.

    2016 Mitsubishi Outlander - Official

I spoke to my local dealer today who tells me there are over 400 current model cars available from stock, another 300+ on the water and the batch after that (due June/July) are likely to be new models.

What's it like as a petrol car

Don't you have an option to opt out Bob? Most people do, and for most it still makes sense to take the company option. Particularly when the government give you options like 5% BIK if you drive something with a plug. Hard to feel too sorry for ourselves isn't it?

    Mood lighting

Or as naff. Do they do a mirrored roof lining to match?

Milky mush under oil filler cap

If it isn't a blown head gasket, it'll just be condensation. Not sure why that is likely to lead to catastrophic engine failure?

In that context it looks like a good option. Against an E Class or 5 Series, less so.

What's it like as a petrol car

If I was going to spend that long in a car every year I would want it to have the nicest interior and smoothest engine I could afford. The PHEV would be a long way down my list, even if it did mean saving a few quid.

    New GX5H

I guess we've all seen pics of the facelifted model at Japanese ports. Nothing leaving the factory now will be old shape, so once remaining UK stock and stock already on the water has gone, the specs and prices will all be new.

I'm pretty sure the new model will be with us by the summer. It's very unlikely that they'll make more than superficial changes to the interior if they haven't with this update.

Um yes, that was my point. After all the anticipation they appear to have left the thing most in need of changing unscathed. The Golf GTE and a roofbox have just returned to the top of my list.

I love what they've done with the interior. ;)

Who is good (price) to personal lease with? [March 2015]

I've a feeling that I read June somewhere, but given the pics of hundreds of facelifted models in Japanese ports, it might be sooner.

    Two new teaser pictures

It looks much better in studio shots than in the previous spy shots. I really want to know what the new interior and spec are like. I've not been this obsessed about a car facelift before, and it's making me question myself rather.
