    Tyre rotation your thoughts please

There are recommendations on tyre rotations, which in summary say that (providing you have modern tyres and suspension systems, and occasionally check your wheel alignment): 1. if your vehicle is not heavy (under about 1 tonne) wheel rotation is a waste of time and money [and I expect the usual...

Re your questions. 1. I am not aware of anyone other than Mitsubishi that look after these cars, but service intervals are pretty good at 15K. 2. Will leave it up to others re dealers in SE Qld. 3. My warranty is 100,000 or 5 years on car and drive battery. From memory, battery needs attention...

    Odd warning

Sensible driving AndyInOz. My readings show the fuel degrades over time. Old fuel can cause engine damage including clagging the fuel pump, filter and injectors as well as potentially clogging filters and fouling fuel lines. How long? In a sealed drum it can last up to 12 months (depending on...

    TIP, TRICKS and MODIFICATIONS

I use a less-than-perfect workaround: the PsideP option - although it only provides a limited amount of information. [In case you haven't come across it. In the map display, hold the North button which then splits the display in 2. Half nearest driver displays the map, half furthest away gives...

Question: I have just upgraded maps, etc and on startup I have a small diagonal message in bottom left corner of screen that simply says "here". Noting happens if pressed. Anyone knows what that is?

    Have we bought a lemon?

This is a bit of a long shot but as your car is not new you might check to see if previous owner has set any timers for heaters and charging. :?: That said, it does sound like some of your problems require service department attention. I have had some issues with car not engaging in fwd or...

    Opportunistic Charging in Parallel Mode

Mitsubishi make the claim that fiddling with the charge and save buttons will reduce fuel efficiency, and under normal driving conditions it is more economical to let the vehicle control systems choose the appropriate mode. My experience would suggest this is true, although it was not a totally...

    TIP, TRICKS and MODIFICATIONS

In very hot weather, keep the settings on normal for first few km so that car cools quickly, then switch to economy setting.

Yes it is the transformer on the charging cable, not the car electronics, that is limited to 10 amps. However, I understand that there is an intent to make a 13 amp charger available in Aus as well. TRT

As sawman82 said in September the AUS PHEV charger is rated at 10A, and will not draw more than that. I also have a meter on my charger that shows max draw of all charges during last 9 months was 9.47A. So a dedicated 10 amp powerpoint would be perfectly safe, providing your wiring is compliant...

    UK - No Toyo Tyres!

I presume you could not mix 2 different brand tyres on the same axle? So if you couldn't source a Toyo replacement you would need to buy 2 new tyres? Any views?

Or you could buy a 10A to 15A converter from JayCar for $70. Safer option and it comes with its own breaker. TRT

    Badges & DAB query

Agree. But now done 16,000 km so will probably leave a mark when removed. Wish I had known it was only glued when new. TRT

    Driver Side Switches

Just coming out of first Winter with PHEV in Australia. I'm in Canberra, so winter overnight temp has been down to about minus 6 C, but warming to 10-12 during day. Only real issue I had was reduction in range - probably due to engine automatically cutting in to drive heater when cold (BTW this...

    TIP, TRICKS and MODIFICATIONS

When raining during day or at twilight the central map display will automatically switch to night-time mode and be almost invisible. There is useful button on bottom right of central display that switches between automatic and manual mode to over-ride the default setting and make it visible...

    Cruise control surge

Not sure if it's the same thing but I've noticed a drag faster effect with adaptive cruise control: Following a vehicle at 100 kph with ACC set to 100. Car in front accelerates to 105 ACC accelerates my car to about 103 (even though ACC set to 100) Eventually car in front moves beyond ACC...

    2016 Mitsubishi Outlander - Official

Yeah, I agree. It's boring. Only reason I decided not to wait is new PHEV is even bigger than current model. And current model is about as big as I can stand.

Gold! Thanks, has been a real worry for me :)

    trouble selecting drive

Not quite the same but . . . I parked and left car on with wife and daughter inside (air conditioning running on 35 degree Celsius day) with P engaged. Came back with ice creams which we ate in car. Total time with car running in P = about 25 minutes. Time to leave but car would not change into...

    ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) questions

Re question 2, if the car cutting in is travelling slower than you the ACC will apply brakes; if car is travelling faster than you the ACC will gradually drop your car back to reestablish normal distance without braking.
