Battery Save Works Until You Stop...

Hi All, Ever noticed this? You've got a long motorway journey ahead. You press battery save with 20 drive battery miles left. You do a bit of overtaking and the range comes down to 16miles - but before it can recharge back up to 20miles you stop at the services. When you get back in the car you...

Static electricity problem, or is it?

Hi, I've noticed that my dashboard and centre console attracts pets hairs and dust loads more than any other car I've had. :o Why would this be? ...on the plus side, I suppose at least it's not all getting stuck in the carpets. ;) Anyone else found this? Regards! :D

    Ideas to max-out your MPG

Hi All, It has to be said that the Outlander PHEV is a very frugal vehicle indeed - even when you've run out of drive battery. :) But are there any ways to eke even more miles from the drive battery and fuel tank? ...I think so. ;) A while ago on this forum someone suggested taking the...

Neutral gives a "no arrow" situation...

Hi All, Anyone knock it into neutral when waiting at traffic lights? I've started to apply the handbrake and put it into neutral as it stops sapping energy from the drive battery. No need to apply the footbrake when reselecting drive either. ;) Thanks! :D

    Ship Shape and Bristol Fashion

I had a couple of onlookers - mouths open and pointing in awe at my near-silent Outlander in the middle of Bristol at the weekend. :) You can plug in for free at Cabot Circus Shopping Centre, but you have to use your own charger - which means it's not a half-hour recharge so take your time...

    Dash Camera

Hi All, As drivers of cars with regen-braking, when buying a dash cam should we get one with a rear facing camera and if so, presumably there isn't one that detects if our brake lights are on at the time of a rear-ender - or is there?! ...and is this important? Thanks :D

Small square of green tape above my head...what is it for?

Hi All, Just briefly, what's the small square of green tape in between the front interior lights above my head? ...and should I peel it off? :) Also, (and the outlander is my first Mitsubishi) what's the minuscule rectangular orange lamp next to it? is it to shine some light over the gear...

    GX3h heater

Hi, I already have a ceramic heater that I bought from Halfords and it's quite good, but rated at 150W it is 30W more than the maximum 120W specified by Mitsubishi for the cigar sockets and I'm worried about using it. Has anyone thought of an idea to warm up the cabin yet? Regards! :D

    The cost of home charging

Hi All, I've only just got my Outlander so have not arranged for any other chargers other than the one that came with the car. I wanted to find out exactly how much it was costing me to charge up each night and so I bought a Wemo Insight Switch to help me achieve this! Last night and with a...

Ideas for keeping a healthy drive battery

Hi All, I've been wondering about the best way to keep a healthy battery and get the longest life from it. I found the following on the net and wondered if anyone agreed or disagreed with the following rather generalised statements about Li-ion: Charge at a moderate temperature - instead of in...
