Hi,

I am often stopping at home to pick up the kids or do some other chores. This means I can be at home for 20-30 minutes before heading back out.

I assume that short charges (slow charges only!) may not be healthy for the battery lifetime (shorten its lifetime or capacity).

How decremental is this practice for the battery life over many years? What would you say is "too short a time" to plug the vechile in?

Thanks
Lior

In general, Li-Ion batteries are not sensitive to part-charging, they do not have a memory-effect. However, you are always charging the battery when hot, and that is mildly harmful. Given the small benefit, I wouldn't. OTOH, when running on charge, save or empty, the car is doing exactly the same.
