Just checking does this sound like brakes are worn?

I ask because it doesn't always sound, some days we don't even hear it? I thought if it is worn then it would always sound?

Second, any recommendations on brake pads?

I'm looking at these:

- Bosch: https://www.eurocarparts.com/p/bosch-brake-pad-101690027

Can it be this simple ( see video below)? I was going to go to the local garage but wondered if this could be a safe DIY?

Never done one where there's electric parking brake mechanisms involved but I doubt it'd be as simple as that video. You may need diagnostics to tell the parking brake to retract before starting, for example.

Quite likely you'd have to screw the piston back in, that's been the case on many cars I've owned for some years now and you can get tools for that or as he did, risk it and hope to not damage the piston dust cover/seal.

Thank you. I've got a manual brake on mine, and yes, I've seen a piston tool on ecp that I could get to do that job.
