I am now the proud owner of my first Outlander PHEV and must admit to thoroughly enjoying the experience. My 5 yr. old grandson particularly enjoys standing on the front armrest surveying the front drive out of the sunroof. I think the grandsons are just as excited with the car as I am.

I digress though, in my ignorant state on upgrading the Sat Nav maps I took the SD card out to show my local dealership, but arrived with it having gone missing. Needless to say it hasn't been found. I asked about a new version, it being the 2014 one and was told it was £1550. I wanted a new SD map chip, not a new Sat Nav.

Can anyone assist with the version of map I should have that works with the E-11 unit please. There are various versions on ebay but which is the right one ie 8750A3894, 8750A450 etc etc, and will one work if purchased?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Err.. The unit does not need an SD card AFAIK. The software came on a CD when I got the car.
Can't you simply have your dealer install the latest update? A few months ago it was on offer over here. 89 Euro IIRC.

Rather convinced it is on an SD card. And the upgrade 'package' is just that: an upgrade. It gives you a key that sort of allows you to copy new data from a master SD card (which the dealer has) to your SD card.

I'd have too look, I confess. From the top of my head I only recall the empty SD slot behind the screen.
But regardless, 1700 Euro just for a replacement of map data? As I said, with my car the MMCS firmware came on a CD with the car.

I believe I have both a cd (dvd?) and an sd-card. Happy to provide a copy if I knew what the process to generate was ...

I just looked There is indeed a MAP SD. I doubt whether a copy would be helpful, as it is virtually sure to be copy-protected. You might be able to buy one from Navteq.

Hi and many thanks for your replies so far.

As suggested, I looked for map updates and found http://www.navigation.com (which is Navteq), and that was a reasonable £149 for the 2016 version , but out of stock !!

I assume a 2017 version will be available soon and have emailed them to see when it may be available.

Of course if anyone has the E-11 MMCS unit available and can pop out the SD chip, and send over the details that would help.

Thanks again to everyone for taking the time to reply.

No guarantees, but maybe worth a try:

I have been helped by another one of our Forum Members and it appears the E-11 unit takes the SD Chip Map version 8750A396 N937L83023, which looking at eBay is conspicuous by its absence.

I will keep on the case, but hopefully I will receive a message back from NavTeq that a 2017 version is available.

If anyone sees the elusive Map SD card 8750A396 N937L83023, please leave a message.

Regards to all

I have spoken to HERE, via http://mapupdate.navigation.com/landing/en-GB/ (NevTeq) and I was told that the 2017 EUROPE SD card for the Outlander PHEV 2013 & 2014 MMCS will be available from 25th April 2017. The price should be similar to the £149.00 for the 2016 version, which is now out of stock.

Kind regards
