P0489 - EGR Valve Position Sensor Circuit Low Input

I have a yellow engine light on with the code P0489 coming up. It returns after being cleared.

I’ve found this set of steps which I don’t think I can follow (don’t know where the components are in the engine to test the various voltages)

Any tips on where to learn the layout of engine components so I could do these voltage checks?

Any other ideas with this error code?
