No gas option

I am new to the PHEV and am wondering for short trips can I use battery only and no gas. The dealership told us this was an option however I can’t seem to make it work. Am I doing something wrong or was I misinformed.

If it's the new model, just hit the EV-key :)
 
Sorry yes it’s the 2018 - I’ve pressed that but I can still see the gas mileage remaining go down.

There is no gas meter, the right side is total (gas + battery), so yes, it is going down in EV mode.
