Mother-in-law takes my daughter to Buckden Library on tuesday afternoons for story time.

Walking across the car park daughter (who can't actually read yet) stops, points to car in car park and said "that's daddy's car, it has a blue E and a V on it".

Mother in law ignores child and carries on.

Come the evening, I get home from work in my PHEV (first time mother in law has seen it, daughter has only been in it twice in the week we have had it) and low and behold she was enitrely correct, there is a blue EV on my car.

None of us could have told you it was there.

Perhaps your daughter picked up on your chat/excitement ahead of the event which triggered the observation. At that age they can be like sponges for detail.

It's also probably nearer to her eye level than yours.

Made me smile. Thanks for sharing.

We had a look and I think it is because they are very obvious and easy to read (she has learnt all the letters, not really what to do with them so much yet).

And because, as you said, she stares right at them and absorbs everything.

After seeing me plug in my Outlander a couple of times, my five year old asked me.

"Daddy, does your new car use lightning?"
