Self-discharging traction battery 2013 Outlander PHEV

Yes, in older models at least. It's a different style, and connects to the car via wifi.

Self-discharging traction battery 2013 Outlander PHEV

Hahah! This is my favourite topic. Check for heating timers. My car was losing power from the traction battery, because a previous owner (or perhaps the dealer) had set timers to heat my car twice per day. This uses quite a lot of power from the traction battery. :)

Factory Outlander PHEV 2.0 air filter element half blanked off?

It's probably worth looking to see if that air box suits other Mitsubishi models. In manufacturing, if you can use one component to suit multiple models, then you do so, because it reduces your overheads. In this case, I'm prepared to guess that the same box is used on different models, and...

    Accuracy Of Digital Battery Display

I have a favourite story about these 'guessometers'... My brother towed a trailer carrying a huge water tank out into the country. Naturally that seriously reduced the instantaneous mileage of his car. All the way home, his guessometer kept increasing the range remaining as if petrol was being...

Pure Electric Vehicle Mod - Hack. Stop ICE (engine) kick-in (heating acceleration & cold).

I was assuming that rocket switch may be another name for 'missile switch'... Here's a local autoparts store that calls them rocket/missile switches: https://www.supercheapauto.com.au/p/aeroflow-red-covered-missile-switch/SPO3817894.html

New Owner Of An Older Model

Hiya, Yes, the reversing camera is automatic, but you may not have one. I don't think that folding mirrors were an option for the PHEV in 2014 (in Australia). If you have the powered boot, there should be a suspicious bulge on the left hand side rear pillar and a metal arm that pushes the...

Level 1 charger has fault light blinking

One thing to check is the sequence of steps you are using. I believe the steps are supposed to be: 1. Plug the charger box into the power supply. 2. Turn the charger box on. 3. Plug the charger into the car. When you perform step 3. make sure that you hear/feel the click of the plug when it...

    great resource

It may be a convention that was established with earlier, manual transmission vehicles. To me, it has seemed natural, since I first started driving vehicles with floor shifts. Pressing a button to put the vehicle in 'Park' surprised me, but now it happens automatically. (Park button...

Front shock dust cover bellows shredded

Getting this fixed in a couple of weeks, along with the regular service. They asked me to confirm which 'dust boots' had died, so I had a look. The boots on the shock absorbers, inside the front springs, have absolutely collapsed. I'm stunned that they are in such bad condition. It looks like...

MiPHEV's Highway Trip Economy, Trailering, and Fuel Logbook Data

For the car to be in parallel mode all the time, you'd need an extra gearbox on the engine.

Part Wanted Space saver wheel wanted in the UK

Well... Here in Oz. If you're in the middle of nowhere, you tow a trailer with many spare wheels and tires, or have them on your roof rack. Everywhere else, places that sell tyres also offer roadside repair/replacement and it's a significant part of their business. You don't destroy your tyre...

Does the PHEV Have a heat pump 2019-2020

Once you've had to deal with a few AI posts, they become more obvious, along these lines: Lots of words, apparently in the right order, but subtle, weird, non-human mistakes, and no value added by the post.

Does the PHEV Have a heat pump 2019-2020

Four out of four posts were AI generated noise. End of user.

Battery range dropped suddenly (phev, 2016 model)

That is managed by the car's software, which protects the battery by maintaining 'headroom' between full charge on the display and actual full charge in the battery. However, some people use various 'reset methods' to defeat that protection, so there's no guarantees...
