    Anyone going for another one?!

I've been considering another one, theres a few improvements since my 2015. However, there are a few niggles. No satnav, somewhat old fashioned interior and thinnish panels etc. Plus theres a new model at the end of the year, and it would be annoying to have a new car thats already out of date...

    New 2018 Outlander 4H owner - a few questions

Do you drive on the right in your country? Japan drive on the left like the UK. In my UK car the calls come out of the right hand speaker which is the drivers side. Maybe they dont change it for the left hand drive market?

    New model

So I've had my Phev 3 years and I'm looking to possibly replace the car. I'm undecided whether to get another Phev or something else. Is it correct that theres a new model for 2019? If there is, when do we think its likely to be available? I'm thinking I might wait a bit if it might be available...

    Firmware updates

Only 2 phones can connect, and you have to faff about in a really awkward way to deregister old ones. The dealer should know that though, and if I recall correctly the app tells you if you already have 2 phones registered. I think there are 3 versions of the app, you need the original one for...

    key not detected

It seems there is a common misconception about the key and the slot. I think Mitsu just suggest it as a place you could keep the key, mines never been in there. The remote uses a CR2032 battery as far as I know, I dont think theres any question of charging involved unless its a new feature. I...

    Considering an outlander phev.

I've got a 2015 model. I've never had less than 18 miles range even in low temperatures, so you should be OK. Rough estimate, if you work 5 days a week, you'll probably spend about £25 per 4 weeks on electricity on going to work and back. If you have Economy 7, quite a bit less. Be prepared for...

New tyre advice, from The Cardinal..

Black Circles give a db rating for road noise comparison. I expect others do too.

    UK Recall Notice

Getting mine done on Friday. They said 42 minutes is optimistic, is likely to be 60 to 90 minutes.

GREEN MOULD/ALGAE AROUND THE EDGES OF THE CLEAR TAIL LIGHT L

My 2015 has it in the rear lights and the high level brake light. I cleaned it out last year, but its back now and I cant be bothered to do it again. I do live in West Devon though, where the winters are mild and very wet. Everthing ouside goes green, but the design of these lights is terrible...

How 'cold' should air con get?

I find it fine if you use it on manual. I think its the auto setting thats too conservative in increasinf the fan speed thats the problem.

Algea, green stuff, in rear lights.

On mine its the outer edges. Theres a cm or 2 of plastic thats outside the seal. You cant really get anything in there to clean them properly either. I'll try some cleaning fluid, I'm just a bit nervous about to what degree I should dilute the stuff. I dont want to do any paint stripping :o...

Algea, green stuff, in rear lights.

I've got lots of algae too. How much did you dilute the stuff?

    Terrible radio reception

I'm in West Devon and DAB reception is great. I've been all over the South West without any problem. Its unusual for Devon to have anything that works better than other places. I cant get a phone signal at home though :(

    on a positive note!!!

I've got economy 7 here and a full charge costs me about 60 pence. If I only got 20 miles per charge, at 4.75 per gallon round here, thats equivalent to about 160 mpg. I get about 35 mpg on petrol, or sometimes 30 at motorway speeds if no charge is available. Its a decent large car with running...

    PHEV (reliability or liability?)

9 months, faultless. I wouldn't have mentioned it though if you hadn't asked. :D Most of the non starting problems seem to be related to rapid charging, which we now know needs to never be stopped prematurely. I think if you look at forums for other brands you will see as many or more issues...

relative costs of driving a PHEV

We might not be in the EU after 2017, but I think we'll still be in Europe

    DIY oil and filter change?

4 Japanese, 3 Korean, 2 American, 1 Land Rover which had 6 month services, and new cylinder head in between!

    DIY oil and filter change?

In the past 25 years of keeping cars for 3 years from new, I've never topped up the oil myself, never mind changing it  Mostly fairly low mileage, but I've never seen the oil level drop between services.

    DIY oil and filter change?

I'm a real owner. I wouldn't be doing any of this while the car's under warranty. I think everyone still is? If you don't get the servicebook stamped your warranty is gone as far as I know.
