Actaully just read the OP properly and seen that they have already got the battery replaced at Kwikfit - helps reading when not in 'broken car panic mode' !

    Replacement 12v battery

Thanks - useful Sadly at the moment the Yuasa battery is showing unavailable and no ETA I've looked around a few other 'online battery retailers' and none list a unit for the PHEV. Now hoping the flat battery was a one-off and just charging the battery all day will be enough :?

    Replacement 12v battery

Hi AntsCar, Sorry, no help, other than moral support - the exact same thing happened to me today, and sent me off to search the internet for solutions. No wifi connection to defrost the car. Eventually I went out got in, and put the car on with the charger still on, and turned on front defrost...

I've just bought my company car!

I had a shiny new PHEV delivered in 2015, but as a company car - when the lease was coming to an end I was offered the chance to buy it, or take another basically identical one as a new four year lease. I've not had any problems over 75,000 miles so decided to stump up the cash, take the car...

Cleaning the Chrome on the 2016 model

I've had the car since Nov, and as spring is in the process of springing I thought I'd wash the car (I know its less than a year, but what the hell). The bodywork has come up lovely and you can see all the scratches and chips (white under the black ? ) but the silver bits don't seem to respond...

    Headlamp beam adjustment

thanks for the replies - sorry for the delay, as I did in fact head off to La France. So it seems its set to be equally blinding to oncoming british or french drivers. To be fair, on a perfectly flat road without accelarating its OK - obviously Mitsu didn't expect anyone to go over bumps, or...

    Headlamp beam adjustment

Hi, I am going to France soon with a UK rhd car. Have looked through the manual but can't find how to set the beam to not blind oncoming traffic. (Well, no more so than usual!) Any ideas?

Miles per kw/h - how's it calculated and whats a good number

I notice that the car is showing a miles per kw/h figure - for me it hovers around 3 - often slightly over. However I'm certainly not getting anywhere close to 30 miles from a charge ? (10kwh full charge if I remember). Is it as simple as that ? Also I notice that the figure changes during a...

    how to maximise mileage

I certainly found slowing down makes a huge difference - since I got the PHEV I've been setting off 20 mins earlier and driving at 60 rather than 70mph on a journey of 120 miles each way. I've been doing the same trip for years and can say that it really is only 20 minutes longer driving (or...

    Heated steering wheel

No, I agree - I would prefer the heat to be higher up.

    Front camera shows very little

Just wanted to give people a laugh for the weekend. I tried to find the camera, but gave up. This was ages ago now - decided I'd get it looked at next service. Anyway - fast forward to this week. My number plate fell off - found it was only stuck on with tape, but over a grill so tape only...

    Front camera shows very little

I've had the car (GX4HS MY16) since Monday, and have only really had time to play with it in the evenings when it is dark. Today I realised that its not just bad lighting, but even in daylight the front camera doesn't show anything. Well, it seems to be blocked with something black and shiny...

    Running in ?

I think I've got it now - manual and auto are separate numbers - pressing the button chooses which one is displayed, but both are maintained all the time. At first I thought it was a single number and the button changed when the number was reset. Thanks for you help - I'm loving the PHEV more...

    Running in ?

Very good point about the 'round trip being split up - yes I'm sure it was more than 4 hours before the return journey. So for just the return half of the journey I'm pretty happy with that. Having looked in the manual (always a last resort  ) I now know about the 'auto-reset' Is a way...

    Running in ?

I know modern cars don't need running in, but having just read the post about MPG I'm a little confused. I've had a MY16 4HS for 4 days now. My first journey unfortunately was a 200 mile 'round trip. I filled up, reset the MPG value on the MMCS and watched it more than the road on the way...

    Help nhs car lease

Hi Nic, I used http://comcar.co.uk/newcar/companycar/taxcalc/ I found it very helpful - can also calculate the fuel card benefit. One other tip - check with your HR dept that they have informed HMRC about the change. Otherwise you might be lending your savings tax free to the government for a...

3 Child seats in the back

I remember a slight panic when I realised that my 'massive' 5 series touring could not fit 3 child seats across the back - in the end I found a fairly narrow booster seat for the oldest to use in the middle which allowed us to just get the 3 in. Most of them have huge 'horns' to guide the belt...

Fuel consumption in relation to Drive battery levels.

Hi, newbie - lurking 'till now as I don't yet actually possess a PHEV (fingers crossed for the end of the month), but I'm really keen to be able to get the very best out of it. Can I check I understand the data ? Did you start each run with a full charge and hit SAVE at later and later...
