Seeing an Outlander in Tokyo tomorrow - I have questions

Can't you simply run the PHEV on petrol when the mains power is unavailable?

chargemaster unit - tethered or untethered?

I've gone untethered. Have not yet used the cable away from home and now think I'm unlikely to, as no charge facility at work. I don't find the daily disconnect/connect a problem at all: by the time I would have coiled the cable and hung it on the charger I have opened the tailgate and chucked...

Steamed Up (The car AND ME!) NO LONGER!!

Had my PHEV Gx3h+ for 3 weeks now. I leave for work at 7:15am and preheat for 10 minutes while plugged into the mains. During this period when outside air temperature has ranged from -3C to 10C I have had no problems with condensation on the windscreen. I normall drive with the aircon on AUTO...

Effect of gradient on fuel consumption...

Clearly gradient has a big effect on energy consumption...potential energy (m.g.h) is changing with height, then there is the energy expended in overcoming drag. I suspect that much of the variation in fuel consumption is due to differing wind strength, which can either assist or oppose the car...

Android App and vehicle software update

I got my car new last Friday. Connected the app on my iphone6 to the car, no problem, and have used to set heating on daily timer. Got the software update message yesterday and did the update today, which took around 6 minutes and worked fine. No hesitation near 100% download which some have...

    MPG (Thinking of buying)

My 2016 Gx3h+ was delivered last Friday. Am really pleased with the car: smooth and quiet. My first commute today. Charged overnight; pre-heated 10 minutes before I left; Eco mode and B3 selected; air temperature 6C to work, 8C to home; 35 miles to work, 32 miles to home; moderate hills; roughly...

Mitsubishi's Remote Control app for iPhone and Android Read

Has anyone got info on the app that Karl refers to? I got my 2016 GX3+ yesterday. The mitsubishi app on my iPhone 6s connected to the car when I was sat in it, but doesn't when I am in my house about 100 feet (30m) away, so I can't switch the heater remotely (when car connected to charger)...

Long Time Reader - First Time posting - Random Ramblings

Regarding point 5. My understanding is that the engine will only drive the wheels direct at speeds down to around 40mph owing to use of a fixed gear (and clutch of course), so I am wondering whether it's best to avoid dropping below this speed when going up hill with a load, to have combined...

I will be leasing for 3 years. Ordered 3 weeks ago and have been told that the vehicle is with the U.K. Dealer, to be delivered to me early January. Perhaps orient red is not so popular and I was lucky to get one a available so quickly. We'll see....

MPG read out on economy screen

Hi Carnut. Am expecting delivery of my PHEV within a couple of weeks, and am interested in the mpg figures you posted. I interpret 58% EV for 87 mile trip as approx 50 miles EV (0.58x87)....the best I've heard of is approx 30 miles so it seems a figure is wrong? (Or was it a 174 mile round...
